Why hasn't the http://www.ninjaturtles.com/ website been updated since November 2009? Is it because Nickelodeon bought TMNT.

I would assume so. I thought the site was going to be closed because of the sale, but maybe it's under new management or something. That's just my guess.

Can someone move this to "General TMNT Discussion"?
They said that Viacom owns the domain now. It seems though that they're too busy (lazy?) to have it closed or reassigned to their web promotions department.
Well they see its a resourceful website so instead of designing a crappy flash site with no new info and less stuff the current site or re-directing to nick.com they are letting it stay until the show is closer to coming out. And when the new show comes out the site will re-direct to Nick.com/ninjaturtles and will be only about the new show and maybe movie and it won't be anything amazing, so get your bitchin' done now so by the time it happens people don't overreact.
THIS is the time for an actual fan site to take the place of the official site with info on all things turtles. No offence but all current fan sites suck compared to the official one and that will be gone soon and we'll only have subpar fan sites. Its sad when smaller franchises have better/bigger fansites and fandoms than the turtles and the turtles all they have are this forums which are not as active as they should.

Wasn't there talk at one point of someone backing up the whole site, even before most of the stuff got taken down after the buyout? I wonder if that ever happened. There was a lot of good info on there.

I have backed up the site and I am currently in the process of getting the content moved over to my fan site. It is pretty time consuming since I only work on it when I get plenty of free time to get big chunks completed. So far I almost have all of the comic synopsis uploaded. More will be done soon! Plus a new fresh layout to go along with it... :P

I thought they were going to keep the site independent. I thought Nick and vacom would start updating by now but apparently not.

As mentioned above, Viacom/Nickelodeon is now in control of the NinjaTurtles.com domain name. It's still pointing to the old site on Mirage's server for now, and my guess is that Viacom doesn't have access to update the site, and Mirage doesn't have permission to update it since they no longer own the content. I'm sure Viacom will set their own site up eventually. Also, Mirage has a new site up at MirageLicensing.com (http://www.miragelicensing.com/).

You're posting this on a forum associated with a site that welcomes fan submissions. If you're not happy with the content on our site, nothing's stopping you from creating the kind of content you'd like to see and sending it to us. If you're not happy with the activity level of our forums, nothing's stopping you from promoting them elsewhere to help us gain new members.
We try our best to make The Technodrome a site that everyone will enjoy, but there's no way for us to know what everyone wants to see until they tell us. We also have many ideas for the site, but our time and resources to implement them are limited (for example, it would be nice for the site to have pictures of every TMNT figure released, but Shredder and I only have a few figures between us). Still, we've recently received some great contributions in a few areas, and we're hoping to add them to the site soon.

I think you have a nice site there, but I'm not so sure that would be a good idea considering that Viacom most likely owns the content from the official site now. You could always ask them for permission, though.

I love it when people use "no offence" like it entitles them to say whatever they like following. It's like "Hey man, no offence, but **** your mother! We still cool right?"

There are more TMNT forums. I think as the Internet has grown, more and more forums about the same topic are started, which gives each forum less memers (sadly).

^ None of those are the technodrome though. Most of the other forums I use are smaller communities with a specific purpose. This one is a larger turtles one that allows discussion of anything turtles and has a spot for almost everything about them. not to mention... this one's got age over the other ones (and non-biased mods in my experience, which a lot more forums could serious use).
All in all, I'd be disappointed if something happened to this site.
Gee thanks.

No offense, but... Umm... Hell. There's never a lame joke in mind when I need one. :ohwell:

You already have the biggest TMNT community, you could easily make with some work make it THE TMNT website to visit. Right now the main page looks very outdated and looks like a site from the late 90s. Yeah it'll take time and work for it to happen but the popularity of the turtles is only going to get bigger in the coming years and your site could be much bigger than what it currently is.
All I use this site for is the forums for the community, for most other things I just used and will continue to use (archive.org) the official site. I don't have time to submit content or help out but if it was my site I'd definitely would be doing something. I was actually going to email you about it yeah the Technodrome could be much bigger and the time to do it is now to have it ready for the next revival.
Gee thanks.

Well I'm sorry but its true, theres a reason I only use the official site and the technodrome forums for my turtle needs. Your site is only a very basic blog. You do have some awesome scoops from time to time but that blog can't compare to the official site.

Thats only true with very small franchises/fandoms, most bigger franchises can sustain more than one forum without dividing members. Theres plenty of fandoms that are much larger but are from smaller franchises, TMNT is so much bigger than them and should have a much bigger fandom than it does.. I am pretty sure its because theres just no strong TMNT website besides the official one. Had the official one had a forum then the TMNT community would be much larger. I also believe the TMNT fandom is very negative and very divided in opinions(comics/OT/NT) which only makes it smaller but thats another topic.

Especially with my site (I'd like too think one of the first massive/pioneering ones from 1996 on), way out the pasture ;)...I just slowly lost interest over the years and now it's basically been handed over too tmnt-l.com.
BTW, Krang. I'm going too re-vamp the mistakes master archive for youtube.I plan to start it up again soon...if you wanna host 'em, LMK :). Also another pet project coming along with it...

We definitely have ideas on how to expand the site, and we've been working on them as we have the time. In fact, one of them will be coming in the next update. Some of our ideas will require help from the community, though, so I hope we can find people willing to help out once things move further along.

Interesting choice of words when you consider that you've been comparing us to the official site (one of the few sites I know of that still uses framesets). It's true that it has been over 5 years since our last redesign, but that's the first complaint I've heard about the design in years, and I think spending my time on some of the ideas I mentioned above would help the site out much more than a redesign could (not to say that there won't be another one eventually, of course).
I don't have time to submit content or help out but if it was my site I'd definitely would be doing something.
Fair enough, although we'd welcome even a small contribution to help get a new section started.

That may have been the case 10 years ago, but now, people don't find forums through the sites they're associated with, they find them through search engines. And considering how long our forums have been around, I'd say they're pretty easy to find.

Looking forward to seeing those. And sure, I'd be glad to host them!

I agree. This website was launched in October 1999, when TMNT was almost dead. Most fandom was based on the 1987 cartoon back then, many didn't even know about other TMNT versions (some even didn't know the Archie comics), except the movies. Now it looks that most TMNT fandom here is based on the 2003 cartoon.
