It seems apparent there were lower than usual print run of this series but I have no actual idea.

Anyone know the real reason why?

Side note:

$8 for a #1 chicago con edition an ok price? i hope it was worth it.

I've had an unusually harder time finding Image series issues at comic book shops than any of the Volume 1 issues. Perhaps fewer people wanted to resell them?

Come to think of it, it was pretty hard tracking down all of Volume 2 in back issue bins, but I eventually got them all.

Steal. They usually go for way more.

The earlier issues are easier to find than the later ones.

The reason is the same for just about any comic run from the 80s or the 90s. By the end of the series, popularity was declining, they were printing fewer copies and stores were ordering fewer copies. Since less of those issues exist, and fewer people actually bought the ones that were printed, they're natually tougher to get ahold of.

Even the early issues, while not too much of a chore to find, sold less copies than other comics of the day solely by virtue of being in black and white and thus limiting their mass appeal. And, of course, the fewer copies that were sold means the fewer copies that are available on the aftermarket.

Def! I just snagged one just above that price point myself!
