Do you believe that your sense of the honor is specially important for you? A bit more sharp that in the people who habitually surrounds you? Do you believe that because of it, you like specially TMNT?....
Comment and post! ;)
I voted first option....definitively it seems to me a bit more important (for me) that people that surround me...with the classic meaning of: Moral quality that takes to the fulfillment of the own duties respect of the neighbor/others and of one itself...own dignity.
...Probably my loyalty towards my family competes with Leonardo.... :D

Honor, pride, self respect, & respect for others are some of the most important things one should focus on. The fact that Leonardo embraced & enforced these qualities is what makes him my favorite character & idol (though not a real person). I at times try to model myself after him. Nobility, humility, honor, many people lack those characteristics. I mean, hey, I'm by no means a stiff nor a model citizen but people nowadays have no shame nor respect for anything. I think the world at large should take notes from Master Splinter!

I suppose growing up with the turtles helped teach me honor is important, I'm a pacifist, I care about all people, especially family/friends, and I have no problem with lending people ahand when it's needed. On the other hand though, there's also the vigilante factor the turtles got, and while I don't believe in starting fights I do believe in punishing those who do, I have a certain thing against bullies and criminals who's actions cause actual harm...verbal attacks I can brush off, but physical violence is harder for me to forgive, family/friends I can forgive for it, with others it's questionable. I do take fighting as a last resort but I won't deny the fact sometimes it comes down to that, and I do believe if bullies/criminals aren't taken down they'll go on thinking they can keep doing what they do and get away with it, so the ends justify the means.

Same here. You couldn't have said it any better. Except about caring for all people. I hate most people.
I'm more of a Punisher. I like to get the rush of beating someone's ass when they start things and I also allow for them to get in the first hit. I haven't fought in a long time because I'm older and the consequences are harsher, so I always try to avoid fights and do the right thing, walk away.

Certainly. I am very idealistic in some ways. And can be a perfectionist at times in some aspects- though I do not keep my house like an HGTV showroom. I am hard on myself because everybody is so hard on me and expects more than of anyone else- or at least I have always gotten that impression.
I don't think that had anything to do with my attraction to TMNT, but I do believe myself to be more moral than the average person. I believe that was the question here. :tconfuse:

I've always been tickled by the whole "honor" system in Turtles. Ninjas aren't really known to have honor, and the type of honor they're typified as displaying is more of a Bushido/Samurai code than one ninjas historically followed.
But then again, it'd hardly be a couple of white-boys high on Kung Fu action theater to get that right.
I would say that I have a code of honor, but it's nothing so severe as Bushido. Wronging someone who has wronged me does not "balance us out" in a positive way. It just makes me as much of a dickrinse as the first guy.
Honor shouldn't be synonymous with pride, and in many ways that seems to be the case.

"You must learn KARAI your loyalty to me is of far more importance than this honor you speak of "(SHREDDER)
Id like it if those around me were more honorable, but what can you do , other than try to be an example to them.
Ninjas ain't got no honor.

Honor systems have no place when spying and stealing intel from the enemy, or fighting to survive.
