How tall is the SHREDDER? and how tall are the turtles?

I was just thinking how tall each of these characters are in their different incarnations, in the graphic novel SHREDDER seemed quite small,compared to his later appearances and the turtles were sometimes depicted as being short and at other times taller. Is there any definitive info on their heights.

It tends to vary from universe to universe.

the turtles in the comics/palladium universe were 4'8" i think. the 2k3 turtles were 5'2". (they got taller in FF/BttS)

Shredder in comics was understandably short, he IS Japanese and Asians seem to be shorter in general. Goes back to roots i guess? I dunno. But he's short because he's Japanese. In 2k3, he was an Utrom in a suit, so it really didn't matter how tall he was, since it wasn't an ethnicity issue.

Additionally, with the comics, that was the first issue, so the turtles heights were all over the place. They got better later on after about a dozen issues though.

Pretty sure he had an Asian actor in the first movie as well, and the turtles were around the same height? Hard to find midget actors with martial arts knowledge I'm sure, so the turtles are taller there than most incarnations. ;)

Good question. Since I was young I always imagined in my mind he was pretty tall.. So yeah, probably about 6 feet or so

In the comics, I never really thought about Shredder's height. I knew the turtles were abnormally short, so that made shredder instantly look taller. However, to my failing memory, shredder never seemed to be that much different in height from the other Foot clan members (who at that point was not all of asian descent right?). I always pictured him to be of average height, not too short and not too tall. I do think the earlier suggestions sound in the right ballpark.

The Turtles are 1.55m and Shredder is 1.80m, atleast in the OT dunno for Mirage.

I dont know if im tripping out, but sometimes when OROKU SAKI is with KARAI and he isnt in his SHREDDER gear he seems shorter than her. But when he is in his SHREDDER gear she is a bit shorter than him.

If I remember this right, I think the cards on the backs of the original Ninja Turtle action figures say Shredder was 6'2" and the Turtles were each around 5'0"-5'1." Although, I think I remember Donatello's card listing him as 4'0" for some reason, so I can't say this is the most reliable source of information on the subject...

Yeah, I thought that was bizzare how Playmates decided to make Don the midget of the family, although his action figure was exactly the same size as the other 3 turtles!

I have a cardboard standup set from the first film's VHS release. Not much reference in the photos, but you can get a feel for the standup's size. Of course the movie Turtle suits were probably larger, but it is cool to see the movie Turtles made to be about the size of the comic/cartoon Turtles.

I know this is an old thread but I was wondering about their heights too. Is there any reason why the turtles are so short in most versions? Maybe has something to do with the breed of turtle they are..*shrugs* In the OT they were only babies then suddenly teenaged when they mutated. Hmm...
