Nickelodeon will be airing the Ninja Turtles movie “Turtles Forever” on Sunday, August 29th at 1pm ET/PT. This will be the first time that any Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles program will air on the channel, but new episodes of the popular show will begin airing in 2011 on the channel!

The “Turtles Forever” movie originally aired on television in 2009. Will you be tuning in?

Neat! Hopefully it will be the full movie that was on the 4Kids! site last December. I never had the patience to sit and watch it online.

Yeah! Nick sure seems to be starting off on the right foot (no pun intended)!

Clever marketing, too, to air it five days after the DVD is released will ensure some additional sales from kids wanting the movie.

Maybe things will be alright after all? :tsmile:

This is awesome! It's funny because it airs the day right BEFORE school! What an awesome going back to school gift.

You could get lucky. Or you could be like us Aussies and get Turtles Forever a year after the Americans. Come to think about it i don,t think Turtles Forever has aired on Aussie TV yet and i haven't heard anything about it being released on DVD here. I had to watch it on YouTube when it first came out.

well Canada has gotten lucky and had TMNT Forever air the same time as the Americans whenever it aired on the CW. but since my Nick network is slightly different from the one in the US that's why i'm worried it might not air. and i might not even get to see the new Nick TMNT show next year either

I thought the new series wasn't till 2012 but that says 2011. Hmmm.

By "new" I believe they were referring to 2K3, which is "new" to Nick in regards to never being aired on the network before.

So there airing the 2k3 series on Nickelodeon I thought it was going to Nicktoons Network this fall thats where they normally put all the old stuff. Wow kinda cool that means it gets to air episodes along with Avatar Legend of Korra. Ninja Turtles and Avatar now thats an awesome lineup.

Seems like bad marketing to air 2K3 on Nick all the way up until the new series premieres. Will lead people to think the new series has some connection to 2K3.

Maybe not, since the new show is to be CG. I could see them airing it as pre-hype to get kids used to seeing the Turtles on Nick, and probably to guage how well it is received, then as the time draws nearer for the movie and new show they will probably air snippets promoting "an All-New TMNT!!".

It's a smart move, get the Turtles in front of as many people as possible as fast as possible to begin building the hype train for the movie, followed by the show.

I assumed that's what the movie is for. Seems weird to hype people for a new series by showing them an older unrelated one, even if it features the same characters. It's one of those things that sounds normal until you think about it.

I'm still holding out that CG isn't going to be the route they go. Since they haven't really done anything yet it's still possible they change their mind.

I'm definitely watching this. And if they air 2K3 on NickToons, I won't be able to watch it there since I don't have it. I just hope they air the new show on regular Nickelodeon and not NickToons.

How do you know it doesn't?

It's been stated numerous times it's a reboot series. They also stated they want to make it closer to the tone of the OT.

I still could go either way with the CG thing. I am not entirely interested in the idea of a CG cartoon. But it could actually look good, so I will just be patient and hope for the best of this situation.

Nick just aired a promo for Turtles Forever's airing. It mostly centered around the 80's turtles and even featured art from the promo poster.

I hope they will air the 4Kids cartoon and their new one in 2012 on Nick too and not just NickToons. Nick is usually an automatic channel they throw in for basic cable these days, but NickToons is a premimum channel and costs extra. Like the Cartoon Network Boomerang channel. Some of us poor chaps can't afford the extra cost.

yuppers, but that's not the bummer for me. by it not aring Sunday as well on my Nick Station, that pretty much guarentees i won't see TMNT on Nick period! and that sucks!

anyone know how i can get in touch with Nick and find out exactly what's going on and how i can find out if TMNT will air in Canada?

"Turtles Forever" is doing quite well in my time zone. When I checked the "Most Popular" menu on my Directv it said that "Turtles Forever" was #2 behind some news program. Way to go TMNT! :tgrin:

Just watched it on Nick with my BF and his nephew. Ethan really seemed to like it a lot, which is a good thing. Chris and I are trying to get him into TMNT, and it seems to be working. When it went to a commercial break, Ethan would ask, "Where's the Turtles?"

They took out the live action homage to Eastman & Laird during the last minute of the movie.

Well that's gotta be a bigger crime to the integrity of this movie than the crappy DVD release is. I doubt it was cut for time.

I hear the Nick airing commercials emphasize the 80s Turtles while the Nicktoons commericals emphasize the 2003 Turtles. Interesting...

That's what I said in another thread. TOTALLY disrespectful to the original creators. That like if Disney, who own Marvel, made a Spider-Man cartoon and did not say or emphasize that Stan Lee co-created the character. I hope this is just a fluke and that Nick will remember where the property comes from. It does make me a little worried, though. Hope they don't turn into complete jerks with the property.

I hope so too, but I'm losing faith in them since the pathetic DVD release. Better than nothing? Yes... but, not by much.

I agree. I hope they do regular animation, but who knows? I fear they will totally mess up the guys and ruin what was once a great franchise.

Even though it's wrong. 73 minute runtime, spanning an hour and a half, does not add up to the exact time. Approximate, yes, but not exact.
