View Full Version : Slash and Tokka, why isn't one seen as the, "evil Turtle?"

Even though Tokka is a turtle, for some reason it is never viewed as the "evil Turtle" of the series, because that honor goes to Slash.
I think its because Tokka is always paired with Rahzar, and its a snapping Turtle making it look a bit different than the others, while Slash in the comics at least has a black bandana, etc.
Does anyone get what I'm trying to say here?

They need to have 4 turtles who are similiar in origin to the tmnt, like when they had the evil planeteers in captain planet. Tokka just seemed to comedic and he is paired with the other one rahzar, slash seemed downright evil when you looked at the figure.

Slash isn't evil!! He was a member of the Mighty Mutanimals and sacrificed himself to save the earth! In the cartoon yes he was Rocksteady and BeBop's pet. But that doesn't make him a bad guy.
Tokka isn't evil, he was an infant in the movie. He was simply following orders. In the cartoon he was much smarter and only stole stuff and caused rampant destruction just to scare stupid humans.

No, Rahzar and Tokka were out for food and didn't know any better in the cartoon. It was stupid how Rahzar kept calling Tokka his only friend and whatever, and went crazy when Tokka was captured... but never showed him rescue him, or at least show Tokka escape with the rest of the captured mutants and return with Rahzar. Sloppy rushy writing.
I was surprised the movie made no big deal about Tokka being another mutant turtle, evil or not. Nothing like 'whoa, another mutant turtle, like us' or whatever. With Slash they always considered him another turtle.
I did like how the OT did address it though with Raph's line. "Not ANOTHER mutant turtle... I'm starting to feel.... um... un-unique..."

Tokka's just a child, and didn't understand. I've never heard children being considered "evil", even those who have done really bad things.

Well I don't think Tokka and Rahzar were "evil" so much as they would have been if they had been had they "grown up" or if they mutagen had never been contaminated to begin with. The fact that Shredder created them was such a cop out. He didn't want to have to fight his own battles. I kind of wish Perry hadn't contaminated the Mutagen because a movie where Tokka and Rahzar turned against Shredder and he had to form a temporary alliance with the turtles would have been better. I had no issue with him drinking the mutagen at the end to become Super Shredder, but yet again, kind of a cop out. But that didn't take away from the movies potential so much as Tokka and Rahzar being "intellectually inferior" did, in my opinion.
