I've been reading alot of tales issues lately & it blows my mind every time I hit the letters section. I recognize almost every name in each issue because so many of you here have had letters published in there. Its funny to sit & read this media of a franchise that is/was so largely popular & see only your 'friends' in there. Even so, Dan/Murph I'm sure recognized everyone as its always been a tight-knit family of artists/fans. The same people always came around, loyal as ever.

So many of us have made bonds with the artists & writers thanks to their open arms & acessible email addresses. I know alot of you maintain friendships with them to this day, as I too keep in contact with a few of the guys from mirage.

I'm gonna miss that, alot. Who knows what will happen with the next run of comics (if we even get them), ya know? It could just be us again, or a bunch of little kids, or maybe just a few new people in addition to us, who in time will come join us here. For all we know, there may not even be a letters section (being that I don't read anything outside of TMNT/Usagi I don't know if most comics still do the letter thing).

It really was. I think that is one of the reasons I appreciate the Tmnt and Mirage as a whole. It was just a group of guys. Not the best looking or most talented. But just a group of guys that had a passion for comic books. And they were fans too. Just like us.

Being able to message Dan Berger and having a conversation with him is just great because its those guys that I look up to. And I really will miss that.

But no matter what, Lawson, Berger, Dooney, Lavigne, Laird, Eastman, Brown,Talbot, And Murph will ALWAYS be the Tmnt to me.

I must have sent 100 e-mails to Dan Berger over the years. I couldn't believe he would always respond back, in under 2 hours even!

You'd think sending an e-mail to a major company would get either no response, or a computer auto-relayed message, but no it was a real person.

Its extremely rare to see the writers/artists so open to fans like they were.

Mirage wasn't a "major" company, though; more like a group of buds managing a behemoth. Honestly, I'm amazed at every one of the Mirage gang's adaptability and talent to learn the many facets involved with managing a major IP.

Yep, its pretty cool seeing other folk you know in them letters pages. And your own letters too! Its awesome how open the Mirage folks are, every time i've been in contact with them, they have always been very corteous, and outright nice fellas!

One of the happiest days in my life was one I opened the letters section one issue of Tales and saw my letter there.
