Just a heads up:
The gang war epilogue/Volume 3 bridge IS still happening. I've been kinda quiet lately because money's too tight to mention and I've had to prioritize accordingly. I'm about halfway through the second pass at the script. You'll see why Hun never came up in Volume 4, what happens to the rogue cell of Shredder Loyalists. Right now the title is "King of the Castle". If you dug Tales #59, groovy, because it's from the POV of Lauren Stanton again :)
Also, some of you may know this already, but Andres and I were asked to submit a pitch for IDW's Ghostbusters comics. From what we can tell, things have stalled somewhat, but we're trying to drum up a grass roots movement to show IDW that there's a market for more mini-series stories and even an ongoing. We're working with Franco Riesco and one of the writers from the Transformers books. I don't know how many of you follow Andres' blog or deviantart site, but here's a little bit of teaser art we knocked out as part of it.

Finally, I don't know how many of you remember this, but one of the last stories I pitched right before the sale involved bringing Touch and Go into the scene, but as two French female assassins. When Tales closed up, Andres and I turned them into the lead characters for sort of a Star Wars meets Deadpool style comic, which Disney's Kingdom Comics grabbed. They sat on it for a while and I believe Kingdom Comics kinda went into some sort of hiatus, but the point is I was called up by an animation producer here in Australia who wants to turn it into a cartoon show.
Things are looking up peoples! Very busy, but very up! More on the comic very soon.
OH! One more thing... the dudes behind Transformers Mosaic got in touch with me about something I'm VERY excited about. More on THAT later too, but all you budding TMNT artists and writers better start dusting off those skills... ;)

OOooh, I wonder what it is? Color me intrigued! :twink:
Also, glad to hear things are looking up for ya, Trist; getting your own 'toon show - awesome!

Good to hear about the Gang Wars thing!
Though, well, I'm probably more interested in the Ghostbusters news. I recall you saying that you pitched an idea that got passed over for the "Displaced Aggression" miniseries, which is a shame, as that mini was pretty lousy (though not as bad as "The Other Side").
IDW's recently found a working formula with their holiday-themed Ghostbusters one-shots, which have all been enjoyable thus far. They've slowly but surely earned back my trust by producing Ghostbusters comics that aren't awful.
Their upcoming Halloween one-shot looks especially cool, as the art is being done by one of my favorite DeviantArt Ghostbusters fans (plus, it's gonna have Sam Haine in it!).
I'm wary about a new miniseries from them, as their past two were awful, while they've been doing a great job with the one shots. If you're onboard for the mini, then that'd soothe most of my fears, since I at least know that you "get" Ghostbusters. IDW just doesn't have a very good track record when it comes to Ghostbusters minis.

I agree on pretty much every point there. The first mini series was garbage, the second was okay. The holiday specials have been up and down. We're on board for the mini so long as there's support for it. I hear that there are a few mini's in the pipeline but none of them are certain yet, that's why we're trying to drum up support :)

Sounds exciting!
Any chance we might see any titles bearing The Real Ghostbusters brand? I am more partial to that branch of the franchise.

It's not likely, but we've got a follow up pitch that would involve a very popular RGB villain. Essentially what the plan was was to merge the movie universe with the cartoon one, kinda like what I did with the Turtles. But, like I said, for that to happen, we need the support.

Well, maybe if the Halloween one-shot featuring Sam Haine gets a lot of positive responses, IDW will put more thought into resurrecting other classic RGB characters.
One can only hope.

Things are sounding good man - good luck! Although I don't follow Ghostbusters, i'd definitely pick up your run, if and when it happens. Also - fingers crossed for the cartoon!

Or you can just email them and tell them that's what you want. Trust me IDW are WAY more receptive with fans than most seem to think...

See, I can get behind that with the Ghostbusters... the cartoon was obviously intended to be an extension of the movie universe from the get-go and didn't really fly in the face of anything from the film (in fact, there was even that episode that provided a relatively smooth transition, with their old uniforms becoming haunted). Things didn't get murky until Ghostbusters II came out, but even that can be sort of reconciled.
Whatever happens, though, that latest video game has got to be considered canon.

Because I'm a Ghostbusters nerd...
When GBII came out, NOW! Comics published a miniseries titled "The Real Ghostbusters in Ghostbusters II" which adapted the plot of the film, but made several small changes so that it could function with Real Ghostbusters continuity (instead of five years, the Ghostbusters were out of business for an undetermined amount of time, Janine and Louis's romance was removed, etc).

It pretty much is, as Aykroyd states as much. Also, he and Ramis helped doctor the game's script and the plot is essentially what the original concept for the third movie was to be (training a younger rookie to head up a GB franchise).
i thing i would rather follow a RGB comic than just a regular GB comic, it just brings up too many good childhood memories - i might be a little off topic, but i thought i might throw that out there:)

I don't see why a "regular GB comic" that accepts that all the RGB stuff happened (and still happens) wouldn't be just as good.

I agree w/ GBHQ on this. I'd rather see an RGB comic, mainly because the RGB character designs are far more distinctive than the unimaginative "four dark haired guys in tan jumpsuits" design that the recent Ghostbusters comics have gone with.
Those guys work fine in a movie because they're moving around, talking, etc. In a comic where you're dealing with static images, it's nice to have a more interesting design to look at.
