I don't know if it's just me but whenever I wear a TMNT shirt or hoodie I get s#!t for it. Every now and then someone think it's "cool" and goes on like "d00d I loved that show when I was a kiiid, shredder the rat was awsum and the orange one...leonardo? was my favorite!" But when someone who wears the hot topic merch is considered "cool" and they don't even really like them, I don't get it. I guess it's not cool to really like them, but cool to not like them and wear the stuff? I dunno..../rant.

I totally know what you mean. I get comments all the time when I wear my TMNT shirts...mostly positive, but the comments are always "surface" comments --- I can tell they liked the show as a kid, but they don't *really* know the TMNT...most of the people I meet that "like" TMNT are not still into them and treat them as a childhood fad. Whereas somebody like me (and I'm sure like you) is into the comics, movies, merch, etc. still to this day. It's not just a fad to us, because we see deeper into the Turtles.
TMNT isn't just a "kids" thing, although I fear because of the original cartoon it is seen that way by the masses. Shame!

Yeah, you hit the nail on the head. I guess most people just pass it off as a kids thing but I don't understand the snickering though. I see people wearing spongebob and other so called "kiddie" show shirts and they don't get **** for it. Ah well the world may never know..sorry about my rant...it's just....frustrating...

I can honestly say I've never been given any crap at all regarding my Turtle shirts, and I wear them pretty often when I'm not at work. I'll get the occasional "Hey cool shirt!" compliment!
In fact, I wear several character shirts, for instance I have a couple Perry the Platypus/Agent P (from Phineas & Ferb) tees and I don't get any weird looks at all.

I have never gotten any negative comments from anyone. Alot of people usually say ''I love your shirt!''

Yeah, I usually get, "I like your shirt" comments. It's probably because I'm a pretty girl. :tangel:

Some people give me crap for it. For the most part I don't get crap for it. Some people are just a holes that think ur an idiot for wearing comic and cartoon characters on ur shirt.

Maybe Hot Topic should also release more kick-ass Mirage style TMNT shirts instead of just the cuddly 80's Turtles. I mean having a shirt with Leo in an epic pose, gritting his teeth and his swords at the ready is much more awesome than cute smiling Turtles with a bad turtle pun.

Serious Mirage style merch would probably be seen as weird or ironic for most people, considering the majority don't realize that TMNT had a less goofy beginning and instead associate the Turtles with the 80s cartoon.

That kinda reminds me of a TMNT shirt that has the cover of the fourth Mirage issue on it (the one used for the first NES game) which was totally badass that I saw years ago but I didn't buy it cuz it was too big. I wish I would have baught it for myself to wear now that it would fit.

I don't get too much flak for my TMNT shirts, mostly compliments. I just wish they would attract chicks. Most girls around where I live don't see the TMNT as a "turn-on".

You must live in a desolate place, devoid of taste. I'm a chick. I'd be turned on.:D

I haven't had any flak yet! I actually enjoy just about any comment I get about my TMNT stuff, and having random conversations with people about Ninja Turtles is always welcome in my book.
My desk at work is even decorated with a lot of TMNT action figures, pins, drawings, etc. Not to mention I think it's awesome to be known as the "turtle girl".

I haven't gotten any flack for my shirts yet. Most of the time people don't even notice it. But I remember there was a time my BF and I went to the fair and he was wearing a TMNT shirt. This lady who was giving out hand sanitizer noticed it and commented on it. We told her we were Turtles fans, and she said she liked the show, too, so we got into a brief conversation about it. It was pretty cool.
And my mom saw a kid with a TMNT shirt at school the other day and commented on it. Then she told me about it 'cause she knows I'm a huge Turtles fan.
Dude why would people get flack? It is becoming once again a fad, so most people today like TMNT.

It's been a fad for the past 4 years or so. But there are always some people that just like hating on TMNT. Which is all fine and good, as long as it helps them sleep at night.
