Oh hey that was fast, thanks michaelangelo :D
I'm not sure about my grandmother's age, but my grandfather's one is around 80 years...he used to be really active (working on his garden and stuff) which surprised me for someone his age, but last year one of his foot got kinda injured so now he's not all that active anymore.
Death comes to us all like splinter sez', but i'd like to live as much as my grandfather is and still be as active, that'd be cool :D

Supposedly there were native Americans that lived to be hundreds of years old, but their entire perception of how long a year was is totally different then what we know. They might have thought of one season as year and so on.

For one thing the Bible is not a myth and no one even reached 1,000. The oldest man recorded in the Bible was Methuselah, who lived to be 969.

"And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died." Genesis 5:27 KJV

Tokka-B
04-09-2003, 08:41 PM
Wow, that is a pretty long time, how did he manage that? :-?

Duke
04-09-2003, 08:47 PM
God made Adom and Eve w/out flaw. They chose to sin, so there bodies were basically perfect. Making the first few generations born after them also nearly perfect. Meaning they could remain healthy for a very long time. There also would have been alot less diseases back then.

Nickokapo
04-10-2003, 03:46 AM
Ohhhhhhh we're talking about the adam from the bible here, not the adam from he-man, not the adam from around the block, not your average adam  i should've readed more carefully.
Well those were different times i guess, nowadays i doubt someone could live that long.

heretic888
04-10-2003, 10:21 AM
I would be interested to how one could explain Adam and Eve's bodies were closer to 'flawless' than my own?? What exactly is considered the 'flaws' of our existence??

Nickokapo
04-10-2003, 11:11 AM
I second that question :ohwell:

Tokka-B
04-10-2003, 07:31 PM

Leo656
04-10-2003, 07:35 PM
Apparently, lots of jogging and pushups. :D

Duke
04-10-2003, 07:37 PM
Okay, I'll explain as best i can. By "flawless" i meant the genes and chromosones would have been with out error. But after generation and generation of reproducing the genes are not copied perfectly. Minor or Majors flaws occur. Causing Genetic Defects.

Leo656
04-10-2003, 07:39 PM
Yeah, especially if all humankind really did start with Adam and Eve. All those generations of inbreeding between their offspring must've taken a huge toll. :P

BTW, I'm just being a smartass, as usual. Try not to get offended, anyone. I say whatever's in my head at the time. It's funnier that way. :D

Tokka-B

Alright, that does it.

I've tried, really, really tried. I've tried being civil, I've tried being nice to you, I've tried playing along with you, and it's just getting old.

Is there a particular reason why you absolutely refuse to act civil with me? It seems like your new mission in life lately is pissing me off when I've tried to be civil with you.

Word to the wise, KID: Push me, I push you back. Tell me to "shut up", I'm gonna keep doing exactly what I've been doing. I'm not the one with the problem here, buddy boy, YOU are. I have no idea why you're trying to start sh*t with me, since I've actually tried to be nice to you, but frankly, I don't really care.

Leave me the hell alone. Don't speak my name, since you're far from worthy anyway. You don't exist, got it? You and me aren't even in the same league. Quit trying to push my buttons, quit replying to me when I'm not even talking to you, mind your own damn business and for God's sake shut up already.

You wanna start a war of words with me, pal? You're throwing rocks at a guy with a machine gun. You aint gonna win.

   I am sure that was all copied from like a Nash fanboy homepage or something, HA! Anyway, I respect your opinions, but that doesn't mean I will always agree with you. If we agree with one thing that won't mean I am going to give in and agree with you about everything. You just are so stuck up with your own opinions you can't except or even bother to challenge someone that disagrees. I have yet to discover whatever you being nice to me means...Why can't you just except that people are different. Take a hint sport...

I was pushing him? How about he was pushing me? He was the one who started that leo/tokka thread anyway... I'd like an explanation please....

And duke, based on your logic, eventually humans will be imperfect...what will happen then?

Leo656
04-10-2003, 08:20 PM
I'm chilled, Machias.

The purpose of said thread was because, at one time, I believed that a rational discussion might clear the air and determine exactly what the problem was. But then I fell asleep. And I've now lost interest, and would rather talk to my cool friends in this forum about cool things like Stooges and Smurfs and The Cure and trying to get Kali to flash...

So nothing else needs to be said from my end.

Tokka-B
04-10-2003, 08:23 PM
There is no problem to begin with! We are 2 different people with different opinions...sheesh, can't you understand that? I don't start topics to explain why you are against my opinions, I don't know why it is all against me anyway...should I start a topic on why you shouldn't be disagreeing with me on everything to clear up our "problem"?

Leo656
04-10-2003, 08:37 PM
I'm going to make one last exception and say this to you, and after that this whole thing isn't worth my time...

(ahem)

Believe it or not, it is possible to disagree with someone WITHOUT...

1. Calling them stupid
2. Calling their opinions stupid
3. Telling them to shut up

For example, A mature person voices disagreement in the following manner:

"I don't know... I personally don't think TNM was a very good idea, I really didn't like it much. I thought it was kind of stupid."

However, an immature person voices disagreement in the following manner:

"TNM was stupid as hell and anyone who likes it is a retard and needs to be clubbed about the head and neck with a dead baby seal."

See the disinction?

What you do isn't voicing your opinion, Tokka, what you do is called instigating. You try and rile people. Me in particular it seems lately. Every single time the words "shut up" escape from your keyboard, to me or to anyone, you cross the line from "disagreeing" to "trying to start problems".

You want to see how mature people co-exist and even get along despite having a difference of opinion? Look at me and GK. We disagree about plenty, and yet we get along quite well. Because there's a flip side to "disagreeing with someone's opinions". It's called "respecting other people's opinions and their right to have them".

Nowhere in that do the words "shut up" or "you're stupid" need apply.

Hopefully, that clears things up. However, like I've said, it doesn't matter, because this is the last time you and I will interact unless you choose to reply to one of my posts. And I don't suggest it, because you wont get a response.

Duke

   Oh boy.....

You tell me to stop saying shut up and stuff, when you go about cursing me out not to mention saying shut up and that I don't exist...if you tell someone to stop using bad language when you use it all the time, then it gets hypocritical. When you cut the language, I will disagree in what you call a "mature" manner...

I'd like to point out that you said you wouldn't post to me unless I responded to your post, then go on saying I won't get any response...how is that supposed to work? Unless I talk to you directly I won't get a reponse, but then again, you would ignore me....I didn't quite understand that...

(Ahem)

Kindest GK,

I would sincerely like to apologize for my excessive comments regarding your (at times) questionable heteroness. I believe you when you say you are straight, despite the pigtails, glow paint and nail polish.

Why? Because I do believe, and my life has shown me this, that there is indeed a first time for everything. :D

I retract my statement, and assert that it must in fact have been a filthy, filthy rumor.

I apologize for any duress my statements may have caused either you or Duke. I'm sure you're both as straight as Kevin Nash.

I also would like to take this opportunity to announce that I have been informed my somewhat "colorful" language bothers some people. That said, I announce that the word "sh*t" shall no longer be a part of my Technodrome vocabulary. in an effort to make this a cleaner, friendlier place, as well as a nod to my proud Celtic heritage, I shall now use the word "shite" in its stead.

Again, apologies to the offended. I'll be a good boy now.

P.S. Can I still make fun of Jeff hardy?

That's it, Tokka, I'm giving you your warning back for trolling after you have been told many times to stop. You're allowed to share your opinion, of course, but it's not necessary to bash everything that you don't like since it causes flame wars. And don't say I'm not being fair, since I have given you way too many chances to stop breaking the rules, but you haven't. Hopefully this warning will teach you to obey the rules and respect others.

Tokka-B
04-11-2003, 01:21 PM
Ok Krang, so people are allowed to go from thread to thread saying they like this, they like that.....but I can't say I don't like this and don't like that? Some might see it as the people who keep saying they like this and that as "starters of a possible flame war"... It is as if people are allowed to get angry if you have a different opinion and you don't like the thing they like....but when it comes to saying you like something they don't like it is a whole different issue...that is what bugs and confuses me here. I'd just like this to be clearer Krang, because I will be honest and say I don't understand your reasoning...

The Defibrillator
04-11-2003, 02:21 PM
Tokka, since you don't wanna listen to Leo656, I'll answer your question.

Positive posts don't cause negative reactions from other posters. If I saw a post from someone saying, "I like oatmeal," there is no logical reason for me to get mad just because I disagree.

Negative posts CAN cause negative reactions. Though this is not always the case. If somebody said, "I don't like gummi bears," and I happened to like gummi bears, then there is no reason to get mad.

However, this is completely different, if I see a post that says, "Gummi bears SUCK! They taste like plastic! Anyone who likes them is freaking retarded and stupid!" That is a logical cause to get me angry. The post has offended something that I just happen to like a lot. That post is not just an opinion, it states that people who like gummi bears are retarded.

Even if a negative-based post doesn't offend anyone, the way it is written can also create negative reactions. like telling people to shut up *hint hint*.

Actually, I have no REAL problem with leo, it's just a joke and I know that.. I'm perfectly secure in myself, hence why I wear finger nail polish and dye my hair all the time, and I also have a purple sailor moon wallet (Thanks to Sarah!) I"d even grow my hair longish if I could.

As for the girlie Avatars, well Tamsin is from a comic book I made a website about (Andi Watson even let me use his art, how rock is that) And I prefer to look at girl characters than male characters. If people get confused, oh well, I have no problem telling them I'm male.

WC is a fast food joint that serves the most delicious burgers ever created. Their unique point is that they're about the size of your palm. So WC specializes in selling the burgers in bulk. Their claim to fame for a long time was the Sack O'Ten, but two years ago they created the ultimate gift to fast food, the Crave Case, a cardboard suitcase full of 30 delicious White Castle burgers, steamed to perfection for a relatively low price.

Hope that helps. Oh, and if you ever eat there, make sure you don't have too many plans the next day, the food is delicious but tends to go through you like Liquid Plum'r.
