Yo! The New York City Comic Convention draws near! There may not be a Mirage booth this year but there sure are alot of TMNT guests! Check it out. At this time, I'm unaware as to what days (if not all 3) these artists will be at the convention. Any news or additional TMNT attendants will be added as time permits.

You can also see character designs for bystanders from the 4kids show on his site.

Erik Larsen (Cover to issue 1 of vol. 3 & Savage Dragon fame) will be at the image booth & does head sketches for free.

Scott Williams (2k3 Voice actor of Baxter Stockman) will be at the "Witchhunt" booth.

*There is a microscopic chance of seeing Michael Sinterniklaas being here*

Panels:
Friday there is a Venture Bros. Panel at 8PM which Michael Sinterniklaas (2k3 Leonardo) may or may not be at. He attends every year but is usually unlisted.

Corey Feldman (Voice of Donatello in movies 1 and 3) is appearing Saturday morning at 10:45 in a panel previewing the third installment in the "Lost Boys" film series.

Tom Wayland (Jammerhead), Rachael Lillis (Tomo Ame) & Veronica Taylor (April O'neil) may all potentially be at the "Voice Actors: East Meets West" panel on Saturday from 12:45PM to 1:45PM. Though each of their attendance has been confirmed, whether or not they will be at this panel has not.

Jim Martin & Noel Macneal (Puppeteers from the third TMNT live-action film) are featured in a panel on Sunday the 11th from 2:45PM to 3:45PM called "Children's TV Legends".

Veronica Taylor (April O'neil 2K3) will be part of a panel that same Sunday called "Voice & Art- Veronica Taylor & Misako Rocks!" from 3PM to 4PM.
For those who are interested, Veronica Taylor will be signing in Autograph Alley..

Saturday – 11:00 – 12:00 – Table 5
Sunday – 12:00 – 1:00 – Table 5

NOTE: Being that Veronicas panel overlaps that of the puppeteers, Michele Ivey (AKA IveyAngelo) has suggested fans check out the "East Meets West" panel on Saturday as to perhaps catch her there rather then having to choose between the two.

I'll be there all 3 days, mostly buzzing around in the artist alley area. It's sad to hear Kevin won't be there. We was my top reason for going. I still plan on having a good time, though.

*edit* Does anyone know if the Scott Williams voice actor is the same Scott Williams known for Inking Jim Lee's pencil work?

Prints are always 10 bucks unless otherwise noted (I got a one of a kind from him for 25$), but his original pieces all vary in price. I paid $60 for an 8X11 (rough measurement) watercolored piece of Mike, but there were smaller pieces ranging from $20-$50 and the most expensive was $75 if my memory serves.

Hey all, just saying that I enjoyed the convention and it was great hanging out with everyone that got to meet up with me. I'm sorry I know I didn't see a handful of people from the forum while there, kept very busy... if not panels than doing interviews with fans/guests for Cowabunga Corner.

I did write up a review of the convention on TMNT-L, something I do for each event I go to. Photos will be posted there as well hopefully by this weekend.

Likes:
Toonseum Booth - loved getting to talk with Jim Martin and crew through the weekend, they were very nice and enjoyed getting to talk with the fans who came by. Their panel on Sunday was fun and we did get them to mention a little bit about working on TMNT 3.
Witch Hunter Booth - It's always great seeing Scott Williams, he enjoys meeting the fans and this time I got to take a handful of fans who never met him before over to the booth to show his work. He did an interview for Cowabunga Corner which will be posted early on in Season 2 of the blog.
Adult Swim Panels - Always funny, always big, and always a never miss event for me. Both Robot Chicken and Venture Brothers were great panels. Sadly we didn't get to hear anything about TMNT for Season 5 if there will be any or not, I do know Seth wants to use the NECA Turtles, was wondering if he got a chance... though I only had 2 people in front of me when they stopped taking questions... we'll just have to wait and see.
Lost Boys 3 Panel : A lot of fun, Corey was a blast and really funny. He had a ton of times to pick on Twlight which was really funny. Got me so interested in the 3rd Lost Boys Movie that I decided to pick up the DVD this week instead of waiting for it on Netflixs.
Hanging out with fellow fans: There was a lot of TMNT fans there, though a few of which hung out with me through out the weekend. Rutger, Powder, Ami (TMNT-L), Jephael, VoiceChaser (voicechaser.com) and Kazari. It was a real blast getting to talk and hang out with everyone, a lot of laughs and new memories. Thanks for making NYC Comic Con worth the trip!

Just save up a little a month in a side savings account, than within time you can afford a convention. Also to make it affordable try sharing travel and hotel costs with other people who want to go that you're friends with, either online or in person. This way you could really make a trip affordable.

That's the first step in going to a con. I really do recommend it for everyone, even if you just go once they're worth checking out. Next step is picking your convention, I usually choose mine by the guest. Though others pick by how many friends are going or which ones are closes to home. I go to a few cons close to home, like Halloween weekend I'm going to Youmacon which is a Detroit Convention... it's much more affordable for me because it's near where I live. I don't need to save up nearly as much as I did for NYC Comic Con.

Anyone can go to a convention... it just matters on how much you want to go.

One of my favorite moments from the show. I was talking to Seth Green at his signing table about the turtles (he had seen the Dooney print I was carrying). Then he noticed my arm and he goes "OOOOOH ****!" and pulls out his phone to take a picture!

Really cool, did you manage to find out if there's going to be any TMNT in Season 5 of Robot Chicken? *G* Heh I know he's a TMNT fan, we chatted back in 2008 about the NECA Turtle toys, a very cool guy.

At NYC 2009 Seth got excited about our Robot Chicken costume, it got pulled into a room with them as they took pictures of it, he even signed the Chicken. He's always a fun guest to have at the con, hope they keep bringing him. :)
