I bought a lot on eBay of misc Image comics and TPB. This came with it.
"Jim Lee's : TMNT" 6 page mini by IMAGE.
Where did this come from? What could this be worth?
Nice little book to add to my Vol.3 Collection.

For some reason I want to say that came with the Jim Lee TMNT figures that were released... I could be wrong though in that assumption...

Nice little book to add to my Vol.3 Collection.
I wouldn't add it anywhere near that. But it'd be neat to have.

Yeah, there were 6 (EDIT: my bad, there were 7) different variants of this issue that came with the seven figures in the Savage Dragon/TMNT crossover line designed by Jim Lee. I've never seen these comics (I would love to read them though), but as I understand it, each comic is exactly the same except for the different covers.

This.
The story in the comic has no bearing on the continuity of the Image series or any TMNT series for that matter. It's very much a "buy our toys!" kinda story.
It's "neat" in so much as any of the Turtle comic odds and ends are, but I wouldn't go head over heals for it.

By "add it to the vol.3 collection" I mean, keep it with any book made by Image for TMNT.
I had an assumption it came with toys. there on the back cover of a few vol.3 books.

But did that mini-comic actually come out under the Image banner? Or do we just arbitrarily lump it with "any book made by Image for TMNT" because it has Jim Lee art?
* edit: I guess it did come out under the Image banner.

It has never ceased to amaze me how "sought after" these are. Every figure's book is exactly the same lame little story, the only difference from book to book being the cover art (which is nice, I guess).

I've been searching around a while for it, but maybe someone knows--
is there a gallery of the seven covers for this online somewhere? Anyone have some to post? Much appreciated.

I found this old thread while searching...I have these in my collection so in case you're still interested here are the covers for these.

Huh, I managed to dig up decent images for most of these and posted them somewhere here on the forum, but that's the best/closest look I've gotten at the cover that came with the Raphael action figure from the Savage Dragon toyline.
Thanks!

Leo looks like he's sporting a Thor helmet.

I could be wrong but doesn't the mini comic have Leo slicing off She-Dragon's hair giving her a mohawk which was carried over into the Savage Dragon book. Presumebly this makes it in continuity with that book and by extension the Image TMNT series.

Leo does give She-Dragon a mohawk and Dragon has already met the TMNT when this bland little comic takes place-- I suppose it wouldn't take more than a throwaway line about that one time the guys wore the butt-ugliest costumes imaginable and this might fit into the timeline.
For those interested, here's the relevant material from previous threads-- some high-res cover images I gathered and a look at the whole issue courtesy of VaughnMichael...

From what I understand, the Savage Dragon book had a completely different in-story explanation for She Dragon's mohawk. Dunno what it was, just that they did.
