What do you think of the astrological phenomenon known as Saturn Return?
Some background from wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saturn_return)... The Saturn Return is an astrological phenomenon that occurs at the ages of 27-30, 58-60, 86-88, etc., coinciding with the time it takes the planet Saturn to make one orbit around the sun. It is believed by astrologers that as Saturn "returns" to the degree occupied at the time of birth—approximately every 29.5 years—a person crosses over a major threshold and into the next stage of life. With the first Saturn Return, a person leaves youth behind and enters adulthood. With the second Return, maturity. And the third and usually final Return, a person enters wise old age.
I have only started researching this and learning about it and would like to get some more insight into what others think/feel about it.

I think astrology is interesting.....I've usually heard that the return of saturn usually marks a time of.....uncomfortable change or a major trial in your life. Some call it the strict parent teaching a life lesson. But who knows. I think that if you really believe in that stuff...when that time period in your life comes....you're bound to attach saturn to anything significant that happens.

Sounds interesting though I'm not too sure about it. I'm not big on astrology. I look at my horoscope sometimes, but sometimes it's dead off on certain things. But if this is true, then I"m starting my Return now since I'm twenty-seven.

From what I have read so far it does deal with an uncomfortable change in your life, like holding grudges and learning to let them go, which helps evolve you into your next phase of life, but if you hold onto it then it will come back again and keep you from moving forward since you are holding onto the past...
Reason I bring this up is a lot has happened in my life and before discovering the idea of a Saturn Return I had thought a lot of forgiving and forgetting, and trying to move forward, then I learn about Saturn Return and what it means and I was dumbstruck how coincidental it was to the way I was already thinking... It made me feel like my Saturn is coming for sure this year. I turn 27 in December and I think then is as good of a time as any to move forward and put a lot of my past behind me and learn from it.
I don't know, maybe I am nuts but it definitely enlightened me when I started reading about it. That is why I would like to learn more... Thanks for the input!!!

Honestly, this sounds a lot like those fortune tellers that tell you something so vague about your life it has to be true. It's not surprising most people can relate to these events. I wouldn't consider it an astrological phenomenon, I'd just consider it life.
Edit: This is strictly my opinion. Not trying to offend MS or anyone else.

I only forgive and forget depending on what the person does and how much the person has hurt me. If it's something small, I'll forgive them for it, but if it's something big, forget it.

What does holding onto that grudge do for you? Doesn't it keep the pain of whatever happened inside of you? How do you deal? Obviously if you forgive and forget you can also still stay away from a person, but why hold onto it?
I only ask because I am battling these questions myself....

It makes me learn not to trust that person again. If I forgive and forget, that means I state that I trust that person again, and I'm not going to do it. I'm sick of forgiving people who just do wrong over and over again and hurt me. The pain will always be there even if you do forgive. You can't forget it either. I deal by associating with people I can trust and pretty much severing ties to the people I can't trust. Holding onto it reminds you of why the person did you wrong and why you can't trust them. If my sister would just admit to her mistakes and apologize, I'd forgive her. But she hasn't. She still thinks she's right and I'm just stupid even though I've tried to guide her.

Holding on to grudges is never healthy. I guarantee that if you never learn to forgive and forget you are the only one who suffers. That kind of stuff just eats away at you and consumes you.....and really, what good does it do you anyway?
I think of my first boyfriend. He was such a jerk and I was soooooooo hurt when we broke up (dumped me for my best friend...lost a friend too.) All that hurt and anger did nothing but affect me. I could have held on to it, become a fearful man hating hag.....but I let it go...forgave them in my mind....and moved on. Happiness returns. All is well. I didn't need Saturn to teach me that......just a little time, maturity, and learning to appreciate things for what they are.
The moral of the story is that nothing (or no one) can affect you unless you allow them to....if someone wronged you and you hold on to those feelings, don't they still have control of you?

That is the truest quote ever. I recently broke up with my girlfriend of four years, who I was gonna propose to in a few months. But she wasn't happy and I saw it in her eyes that she wasn't and we talked and had arguments and eventually decided to call it quits. It hurt so f**king bad I literally wanted to die. At the time I felt like everything I had done for her and everything we had done together all went to sh*t, like I had failed. I had 3 prior girlfriends but this was the one that got to meet a lot of my family, I went to New York with her, I held her when times were tough and then one day it just wasn't the same. She was my first true love, and when we split I felt sick. I was angry and bitter for a while but eventually it hit me. If I really loved her I would want what's best for her and for her to be happy. And I look back on our relationship as a time of learning and self discovery and I smile at all of the good times, but at the same time I look forward to whatever the hell life is gonna hurl at me next.
I've never heard of a Saturn Return but it sure makes a lot of sense. This year has been brutally tough in terms of personal issues and work. At the same time I feel like these trials are necessary for me because they help me grow. Being a Taurus i tend to sometimes become too comfortable in my situation and change is often resisted, as necessary as it may be.

Katie, I get what you're saying, but it doesn't pay to forgive a person who keeps wronging you. If it's just one time, I can forgive for that. But when someone keeps doing you wrong no matter what, it's not easy to forgive them. I'm not going to waste my time on someone like that. I'll just focus on the people who have treated me right and continue to treat me right.

What I find hard to understand is how can you hold onto that? I understand not wanting to trust that person who wronged you but why hold onto the pain that they caused you... I'm not saying become friends with the person again, just to forgive them so you can become a better person for yourself instead of hanging onto the painful memory... Does that make sense?
For me I want to just forgive the idiot who wronged me. I won't ever forget what happened, that is just impossible. And I am not saying I will send the guy a letter or note saying I forgive, but more so just inside of myself... For my own relief... But I can let go of the pain and move forward instead of clinging onto it everyday as a reason to hate the person... The dude is a bum and won't go anywhere in life, so pushing myself forward and learning from this pain I can become a better person... At least that is what I am thinking will/can happen. And with that Saturn is just around the corner for me and that is what made me think of the topic, whether astrology has anything to do with grudges, forgiveness, etc is somewhat irrelavant I suppose but does push this a little off-topic but that is okay as I like where this is going... 8)

That's the thing about forgiveness. It's for you....not the other person. Forgiving idoesn't mean you forget.....it just means you do not allow that incident or incidents to continue to affect you.
Forgiveness is internal. It is mental. It is a measure of maturity.
And Bubbly.... based on all the comments you've left here and on the cafe...... I really feel sorry for you. Not really that I agree with your feelings about your sister.....but more I feel sorry for you because you are letting anyone affect you so much. I've been through a lot of things that are seriously seriously worse than that.....things that made me have to grow up waaaaaay more than people my same age. Believe me. I'm not trying to piss you off...I'm just reading as an impartial observer who sees things outside the haze of emotion you seem to have.

I understand what you mean, Katie. I'm not mad at you. The thing is, she keeps doing things that tick me off, which is why I can't forgive her. If she'd just stop and realize how much she's hurt me and the rest of our family (who feel the same way I do in this matter) maybe things would be different and I could forgive her. But the trouble is, she doesn't want to admit she's wrong and admit that what she's done has hurt us. She expects us to just jump up and forgive her, and I can't do it. She's a horrible person, and I have no reason to forgive her when she keeps wronging me. I've forgiven her before, and it just continued.
MS, I'm not trying to influence your decision. You do what you feel is best. Good luck to you.
