So, pretty much Christmas already, huh? We have bought our tree and stockings. Have you started preparing for Christmas yet? What do you want for Christmas and what would you gift to your closest one?

Yeah, a wee bit nuts, eh?

I'm not much for holiday spirit this time 'round. Sh!t has hit the fan at home.

nothing too major going on that i know of. my Dad got injured on the job during the end of October and is going to at least need 4-6 months recovery (he broke his ankle in several places) so not even sure we're going anywhere this year. which doesn't bother me

I got some of my decorations and one of my Christmas Trees (yes I display two) down from the attic already. Present buying almost done, Turkey sorted and just stocking up to avoid the last minute December panic buy fest.

Christmas starts early and stops late at my place.

I'm most likely working on Christmas, but I'll be getting $30/hour. I'd work every holiday for that kind of pay.

I got my cousin Batman: Under the Red Hood and my other cousin an X-games highlight DVD. Other than that I'm blanking on what to get Mom, Dad, Sis and the gang.

No worries though, I love the Christmas season too much to get stressed out over it.

I hate holidays and I'm not looking forward to Christmas anymore. It's just a day with no meaning for me. Don't really care about getting presents either.

I won't think about Christmas (with the exception of maybe a small gift purchase here or there) until after Thanksgiving. After that it's full speed ahead!

I personally love during the holidays to sing/hum a song in a store in which then another person will hear then hum, then another, then another. Then soon enough behind every corner there is a person sing/humming/whistling that song.

I can't wait to attend my first Black Friday. Sound fun.
About half of my family are buying presents right now, I had no idea till my mom was talking about it. This year I really don't want presents like Bubbly, but my reason is just because I am pretty non materialistic and prefer watching others opening presents, especially the kids. My neices and nephews are a joy to watch. Some of them prefer the wrapping paper and tape over the toy itself.
Christmas is fun. The kids get toy guns, computers, game systems, my older brothers end up taking the toy guns and go and play with them and shoot each other, lose several of the bullets.
We use to have Christmas karaoke, don't know why we don't do that anymore.
We read parts of the book of John, I am not really that religious, but I am a sucker for tradition.
My older sister and I use to sit under the Christmas tree when we were younger and stare at the glowing light bulbs that went into music sequences with catchy Christmas songs, after we help put up the decorations. There is usually a color theme to the tree. My mom is thinking about silver and gold for this year.
The house smells like cookies, my moms cooks cookies for hours, sometimes even half the night to Christmas. They all somehow get ate within half the next day.
I also love my moms Watergate salad that she makes!
My brother is a super chef and makes amazing pies.
We have a giant Christmas breakfast that lasts the entire day. I am not to partial to breakfast, but oh well.
I personally love Christmas commercials on tv, I love all those movies that are on every year. We personally watch a Christmas story every year.
I also love driving through the neighborhoods with my mom or sister and looking at everyone's decorations.
Our family also loves to take in friends or people we know who don't have a family to have Christmas with or Thanksgiving.

Christmas is the bomb, how do you not enjoy all the festivity and joy it brings to people Bubbly?

Eh, Christmas is my FAVORITE time of year but the spirit hasn't hit me yet....I dunno why I'm usually psyched by now but hopefully it comes after thanksgiving. The most I've done so far was hang a Michaelangelo stocking on my door....

It bothers me when retailers try to start the Christmas machine in mid-October. I celebrate Halloween hard, and I tend to let the mood linger until about the second Saturday in November. Blood, guts, horror movies, screaming, pranks, beer, and slutty costumes. Gotta' love it. After that second Saturday in November passes, the skeletons go back in the closet and the Santa hats come out. Mood shift!

Christmas really is the greatest time of the year. All the adults who become jaded and cynical and can't enjoy the fun depres the hell out of me. Christmas is that time when you can be happy for no reason, or for every reason. Christmas is that time when you get to drench your house in lights, play repetitive Christmas songs that never get old, and give gifts to others even if they probably know what they are getting.

I'm getting my sister something incredibly special this year. I can't really say what it is because she lurks the forum, but it was damn hard to get and I've been hiding it since June. It's actually going to be pretty hard to let it go, but the feeling you get from making someone else happy is second to nothing on Earth.

That's why Christmas is awesome. That, and free video game.

Actually, Ai, I used to love holidays and always got excited about them. But as I've gotten older, the excitement has gone out of it. They're just days to me. I don't really care about getting presents like I used to. I could care less whether I get anything because it's not a big deal.

I love Christmas. Can one get a little crazy, but still be simplistic? I don't go overboard, I mean, but I like to have a tree, some decorations around the house, and maybe some little sticky things in the windows.

I'm not completely in the Christmas spirit yet because it doesn't really feel Christmasy to me until at least around or after Thanksgiving. That's generally when the tree and stuff starts to go up around my house.

I don't get many presents anymore, but I never look for them either. Besides, that's not what Christmas is all about. I love to give about as much as I love to receive. I enjoy watching people's reactions when they open their gifts. Then I'm happy both because they like it and that I chose well.

I actually made a lot of gifts this year too. Being in a call centre has its advantages, such as when I am getting cussed out, I can crochet blankets! :)

Actually, this year is going to be weird. Ram Bam & I are going away for Christmas to escape his crazy mom. So my family is going to Las Vegas (I know, weird) for the holidays. We all agreed to not buy gifts for each other since we're going away together, so that cut my shopping list in half and because I made a few presents, that means less mall time for me! YAY!!

You sound like an incredibly sad and boring person. That angst **** gets old pretty quick.

It also sounds super ****** to say "its not a big deal" to the idea of receiving something from someone who spent the time to find something for you. Makes you sound like an inconsiderate snot.

Edit: Christmas is awesome. So is Thanksgiving. Most holidays are. But winter holidays make me happy. Don't **** with Christmas.

When I stated that I don't care if I get presents, I meant that it's not a big deal to me whether I get them or not. I'm not a materialistic person who makes a big deal about stuff like that. It's not that I don't appreciate the thought behind it, but the fact that I don't make a big deal about receiving presents and make a list about what I want. It doesn't matter because I never want anything. As long as I'm with people I care about, that's all that matters to me.

I'm glad you like holidays, but I just don't get excited over them anymore. Call me inconsiderate if you will, but holidays just feel like regular days to me. That's it.

Christmas is frustrating. I'm moving in January so any money I have I'm trying to save for my apartment. As much as I'd love to get gifts for the majority of my friends, I really don't have the funds for it this year. I know I'm getting presents for my parents and boyfriend, but that's about it, unless I find something spectacular or cheap (or both.) I've also only asked my parents to help me get a laptop for school and a better tablet. It's weird reaching a point in my life where I've realized that I don't need or want the useless **** I usually ask for for Christmas.

You say you aren't a materialistic person, but you keep on talking about you receiving presents things and not a word about giving them to others.

I don't really care about Christmas, sure the food is great but that's about it. There's nothing good to watch on tv, just the same thing as last year and the year before that. I'll just spend most of the holiday in my room surfing the net and play games.

I'm just happy I don't have to celebrate Christmas with the rest of my relatives.

Edit:
Meh I sound way too pessimistic in this post, just wait a week or two and I'll tell you that Christmas is great XD plus I love the decorations.

I'give presents to my boyfriend, but that's it. As far as I'm concerned Christmas isn't about presents and frankly, I don't think giving presents is necessary. To me, Christmas has just become the holiday where everybody is looking for the next big thing. It should be about being together with loved ones and not the material things. I want to give presents to others, but every time I offer to do so, they just decline. So, I don't bother.

Got one of my trees up. The 'custom' tree as I call it. The 'Tidy' tree will be up tomorrow night.

The custom tree is where I have all the home-made decorations etc. The 'Tidy' tree is where all the newer fancy ornaments. Having 2 Christmas trees in my living room is kinda greedy but I have pulled it off by making them diffrenciate from the other.

Thanks for the encouragement, Hannah.

That's awesome, Hero. We don't have our tree up yet. We'll probably do that after Thanksgiving if we don't get snowed in. Mom got new lights for our tree that are energy savers so we can keep the lights on longer than usual. We just have a small tree now instead of a big one.
