To start off, I think we are all aware that internet petitions are worth less than nothing. I've always been curious about the exact ratio of love to hate about Venus and I figured competing petitions would be slightly more accurate than an equally worthless web poll. Now, when reading them, it may sound like I think this will lead somewhere, but I don't really care which petition "wins." Also, I was bored and figured, why not?
Nickelodeon: Bring Venus Back (http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/venus-yes/)
Nickelodeon: Keep Venus Down (http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/venus-no/)
Anyway, please sign one (or both?) and pass these links on to any pro or anti Venus groups, or general TMNT boards. It won't feel right until there are at least a thousand signatures between the two (considering how many TMNT fans there are), but we'll just see how it goes.

Man, one of my greatest fears when I heard Nick bought the franchise was the possibility that we might actually see Venus resurface in future media. I say the less fans mention her, the better off we'll all be.

:teek: . . .
:tgrumble:
They should make a sitcom about us as roommates... it would be the whole whole total opposites=great comedy formula.
Ah well... I guess we can disagree without being disagreeable. :tsmile:
Nick/Viacom better not bring Venus back. She should have never been part of the Turtles to begin with. Worst character ever.

Man, one of my greatest... Aw, screw it.
Does he come back great enough as long as she's well written and fleshed out. If not, Hurray. One less extra mutant to worry about

Nick/Viacom better not bring Venus back.
Don't worry, I'm almost certain they have no intention of doing so. In fact, if the "yes" one got 100 thousand replies and the "no" one was largely ignored because people didn't want to dignify it with a response; I believe it would bring her chances of appearing up to 1 out of 200 (or one half of one percent)... and that's in a dream sequence. Anyway, as I stated before, that's not really what this is about.

She won't be used.
Nick doesn't own Next Mutation and since they're doing a reboot, they're obviously sticking with the established formula.
Plus if its an old toon reboot, then she won't be in it.

Cuz reboots are always exactly like the originals, eh? :P
Actually, I hear from reliable sources that Nick plans to include some random female ninja turtle in the background of each ep, and they plan to make her the Scrappy-Doo of the gang eventually. :sweatdro: Honest! It'll be outrageous! :embarass:

Yeah,I prefer Mona Lisa(Nick,DO NOT MAKE HER A TURTLE) over Venus De Milo anyday.Again,My opinion.I only saw a few episodes of the Next Mutation as well a the crossover with one of the Power Ranger series and blah.
Even as a Venus fan, I don't think she should be reused. If they really wanted to include a female turtle, they're better off creating a new character from scratch. And only if there are enough mutants to make her not seem... convenient. (Wow, the only other mutant they come across happens to be a female turtle, that’s completely believable and doesn’t come off as at all contrived. Unless that's the villain's plan.)
And I still totally want her as a bad guy. You could get a lot more stories out of her that way than a tag-along.

Well, it goes without saying that they'd have to re-invent her. I mean even if it's not a reboot (which we have all reason to believe it is) it wouldn't continue from the Next Mutation universe.
Also, after Slash, Tokka, and April (Archie Special #11), Venus is actually the fourth "5th Turtle" and like mutant #300. Meh, every pro and con has already been said by now, I was just curious of the percentage.
Now I wouldn't want Venus to actually be a main character but a re-curring character would be nice. I really don't understand the problem with Venus. Nick doesn't own TNM but they do own the character so they could use her if they wanted. Now that Laird is out of the picture its definitely possible for her to come back though I don't think its likely in the near future because of the fandom and its just cool to hate her. She's basically was the fall guy(turtle?) for TNM even though she was easily better written than any of the other four turtles. Kinda like Scrappy, he literally saved the Scooby Doo franchise and yet he's blamed for the downfall of Scooby and he can't appear because its cool to hate him now. I'm sure we'll see a few references to her as easter eggs or as a poke fun at it but I don't see her making a real appearance in many years which is a shame.
I'd also love to see some of the rouges gallery from TNM Bonesteel/Silver/Dr. Quease/Dragonlord/Vammi were all pretty cool/interesting characters, and would easily be some of the turtles most memorable villains if written appropriately. Its not like the turtles have a huge rogues gallery outside of the OT.

Scrappy saved the scooby franchise?
Scrappy saved the scooby franchise?
That annoying Puppy. I think he made the show worse. Not that i really watched Scooby Doo but the episodes i have seen he got real annoying really fast.

I would be ok with a appearance or very minor role with her if she was not related to the 4 brothers at all... or as a secret character in a video game. No more than this.
Scrappy brought the ratings up after audiences had grown tired of the Scooby formula. After that Scooby Doo struggled but it wasn't necessarily Scrappy's fault, in fact Scrappy had only been the annoying character everyone remembers in his first show, in all the later incarnations of Scooby Scrappy was not only a competent character but a good one leaving his annoying traits mostly behind. Scooby just struggled finding an audience and not necessarily's Scrappy's fault, even the scrappy-less A pup named SD failed. Scrappy is just used as a scapegoat of people growing tired of Scooby and only take account the personality he had in his debut season and not his later improved personality.

Thank you, sdp. I think the biggest reason as to why I disliked the live action Scooby-Movie was because of how much of a diservice it was to Scrappy's character.
Anyway,...yeah I'd perfer Mona Lisa.

I ONLY liked him in his debut season. Y'know, the Bronx tough-pup, "I can do it on my own" Scrappy, not the "I'll SPLAT 'im... as soon as I force my Uncle Scooby to show him who's boss".

the Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo was bad. But the worst was the show with Scooby, Scrappy and Shaggy, when the monsters got real.
getting back on track, adding a 5th turtle would crowd the sewers, four turtles are plenty and they fill their roles just fine. Maybe they'll do like the artwork from Sean Galloway and amke a ninja turtles group of four with one being female. It is a new canon after all:ohwell:
But most likely I do not think she'll resurface. Think she'll be doomed to be a "Hey fun fact, did you know there was one time a fifth female turtle?"

You might be surprised to hear this from me, but...
I like Scrappy Doo too. Always have, in fact.

This has been fun and all but may we get back on topic please.:D
I'm not a huge fan of Scrappy I liked him as a kid but I don't hate him and I'd like to see him again, I think its pretty funny when they poke fun at him though like in the first SD movie. Same with Venus I'm not a huge fan of her but I don't understand the outrage and would also like to see her again.

Would have made a perfect "I'ma let you finish" line! :D
I still say Venus was the least annoying Turtle on The Next Mutation. The rest were atrociously written.

Yeah, really. Everyone knows Crappy-Poo is just an obnoxious glory hound with a squeaky voice... as of 1980. He was a decent character before the voice change, and sucked in everything since.
Personally, I always loved Scooby Dum.
Venus? No, thanks.

Well, this is unexpected. I assumed Venus would either loose by a landslide or be totally ignored. Currently she's "winning" at about 40-20 but that just means that only Venus fans are voting.:trolleye:

If Venus somehow got pregnant and gave birth to humanoid turtles then I'd want her back.
