no, maybe its from the original idea of next mutation instead of the show.

I'm guessing that was maybe for the unmade fourth movie from the '90s where they became X-Men clones.

Anyone wonder if the mutations the Turtles had in the Lord Dregg seasons was picked up from this idea?

I mean, this ad was in 1994...and in 1995 in the original cartoon the Turtles started having new mutations...

I wouldn't be too suprised. I don't know if they came up with the idea but I'm sure it was Mirage if not Peter and Kevin themselves who designed the monster forms the turtles had in their last two seasons.

I don't think the use of this art here is supposed to advertise the Next Mutation movie concept. If I remember correctly Action Zone was toy ads with Mike Dooney's Cyber Strike short which was a take on the Red Sky turtles in the Cyber Samurai armor fighting some other licensed toy characters.

It could be they recycled the art seeing as they would go with a similar storyline for the show or the could've thought that Raph design and the Next Mutation tag were cool and used it.

It's also kinda weird to think how long variations of that TMNT logo has kept on going.

Wow, you're right. I was thinking it reminded me of something but I wasn't sure what. Thanks.
