I couldn't find this thread and I don't want to start a sad/feel sorry thread but I've been going through some serious depression almost suicidal. Anywho, TMNT seems to be the only thing that keeps me going and I really don't know why...Despite giving up on everything it's the only thing that can keep my mind off of things and help keep me calm. It scares me that I will get too wrapped up into it though but I can't help it, it's the only going that keeps me going. So I was wondering has TMNT become an anti-depressant for anyone else?

Dude, I don't know what you are going through but suicide is NEVER the answer. If I can pray for you in anyway, please feel free to contact me.

Depression is generally temporary so just push through it. If TMNT works for you, watch/read/play TMNT you can. Nobody wants you considering suicide, so if that's something that helps use it to get you through.

TMNT are why I'm still around. I can speak on the behalf of at least 2 other members here, too, when I say if it weren't for them, I'd prolly be dead. You most likely will get "too wrapped up into it" if things are as bad as you say, & they're the only thing helping. There's no harm in it as far as I'm concerned. Sure, you may spend far too much money on TMNT goods, but if having some special items around brings a smile to your face every time you see them, who cares? That's the point. So hell yeah, they've helped. All versions... I've had depression at various points in my life, sometimes suicidal, other times just your average stuff, but the green guys have always been my retreat. Even now, as my parents seem to be headed towards a rocky divorce after 21 years of marriage, I cling to them to keep me sane. I'm sure I'll do so again in the future as that's been the pattern of the past. All I can say is keep your head up, have faith in all of your endeavors, hold on tight to whatever keeps you going (i.e. TMNT), & NEVER let anyone tell you your passion/obsession for them is unhealthy.
P.S. I second what oldmanwinters said, if you need me, I'm here. I think it'd be safe to say a lot of us would be more then happy to console you. That's what we're here for. The drome may be a crazy place at times, but we all love the same things and can (generally) count on fellow fans for all kinds of support. We share a passion & thus share a bond. I wish you the best, man.
I lost my Brother 15 years ago to a MLD and the TMNT where the only thing to keep my mind off of it. And like previous posts before said we are all here if you need someone to talk to.

I couldn't agree with Powder more, if TMNT is what keeps you sain then there is nothing wrong with it at all. I can not say TMNT has saved me from anything but that's because I was big into cars and that was my anti drug. Look at Michelle Ivy, TMNT has helped her through life alot from what she has stated on her videos. I think everyone in life needs some kind of hobby or anti drug in life to help keep them sain and happy when times are bad. Man ill pray for you tonight and keep your head held high, life is always throwing curve balls at us and there's not alot we can do about it except hold our heads high and pull thru. Good luck to you man and I hope everything works out for you.:tgrin:

My dude Powder said it best. But I think you really should be talking to someone about this in person.
It distracted me from my (mostly medical) problems, but didn't really help with much. It just helped give me something to do in my spare time since I couldn't go out and play w/o feeling even worse.

Guys....I generally mean it when I say "THANK YOU!". I truly appreciate the support and everything. Just things in life took an unexpected turn and hit me by surprise, it's cool though. I'm way better today I just let things get the best of me yesterday and lashed out. And don't worry, I won't commit suicide, I just wasn't thinking rationally.
Powder, I agree. There is nothing wrong with the TMNT being there for comfort, they're the reason why I'm smiling now. Yeah, I spend gloobs of money on TMNT stuff but being around TMNT stuff makes me happy so I'll continue to do it. :)
And yeah, Samhain you're right. I went to therapy a few years ago because of conflicts I had with my mother but I might just go back to blow off some steam in a healthy way.
Again, I really appreciate all of you dudes!

Well I'm glad to hear things are working out better for you and that you had good help getting those nasty thoughts out of your head; I mean everyone has nasty thoughts temporarily pass through their head sometimes, but as long as they don't let it get the better of them and push past them, they'll benefit. And yes, TMNT brings light to my life too, one of the best forms of therapy for me and always will be.

I must admit. Whenever there's something wrong with me, the tmnt always brings a smile to my face. Especially when I'm out from work sick. Whether its old, new or any of the movies. Although, when I start watching any of the cartoons, its like I have to continue watching it until the entire series is complete LOL. Takes a couple months or more for an entire series though. I don't know why. A feeling of completion I guess. Then, when its all done, I feel like...omg they're gone! But then I have to remember I've got them for anytime I wanna watch 'em haha. Rationally thinking huh? Imagine what any version of splinter would probably say about that. I always wonder he would say about certain situations. Glad you're feeling better pizza_face. The best cure I've ever found for any problem whatsoever that bugs me? Close, trusting friends. I have a select few I consider a cure-all. Keep us updated & I hope all remains well.
I started collectin' Turtles one year ago, as kid lost memories but when my last girlfriend broke up with me in July , after 5 years together , I became sick n Insomniac. I have bad feelings but, turtles help me , when I say turtles , I mean turtles , technodrome pepole and la tmnt Familia, I thank them for being there and support the vision of my free speech turtles land. god bless them.
since I'm single (not into a serious relationl I try to move my mind out o' that special "one" and toys are a sort of therapy. sort of. Everytime I buy turtles stuff it gives me pleasure , still I was happier to get stuffs wen I had my gf to talk with about , now it's kinda like "buying drugs" or something, I don't know..I'm just an turtle addict
I wait 2012 turtels movie and i'll see what'll happen after dat lol. I couldn't suicide myself thought , because I know there is a million of nice turtles and girls I have not seen yet out there lol
Pizza Face You seems to be a nice dude , I'm happy things are going better for you ! Keep Rockin the sewers cowabunga style pal !

I havent any depressions though, but my turtles help me a bit with my weekly injections.
Its SO not easy to "poke" myself..it really stresses me, so I began to sit in my room with a turtles video in the background.
So to get over with my fear of that long needle, I only have to look at them.

The TMNT have definitely helped me deal with my emotional problems; not just depression but anger. Whenever I feel myself getting too worked up I think to myself "What would the Turtles do in this situation?"

Well Pizza Face yesterday you were having a bad day and today has turned bad for me, my Jeep broke down and iv only had it 2 months:x Paypal messed up on an order of mine, Iv been sick throwing up all day, and found out my brother who is stationed in the Airforce will not be coming home for Christmas because he is being deployed out to Afgan...but through all the drama Turtles is one of the only things today that have helped calm me down and pull through this mess of a day. So don't feel alone in the world we all have issues just be glad for TMNT and the people on this site.:D
