View Full Version : Anyone curious as to why Nick isn't airing the 2k3 series in reruns yet?

They purchased the series from 4kids back in 2009. They aired the "Turtles Forever" movie I believe 3 different times on Nick.

Yet still so far they haven't added the old 2k3 series to their lineup.

I always assumed they would start airing it to build up hype for the new series, but so far they still haven't. Seems odd to me they own the series yet aren't airing it yet.

They probably just don't want anyone else airing it.

They probably want to have some time with no turtles and re introduce their show as the definitive turtle show... just to re introduce them to the younger generation who may not be familiar with any other incarnation maybe.

Well they only bought the turtles a year ago and have only been able to actually air the show for a couple of months now. The official site has turtle action in 2011 so I think its safe to assume it'll begin then, likely in early 2011, even if they have a new show they didn't spend 10 million on the 4kids show to not air it.

I think they are planning a big splash with the turtles and don't want to just dump the show which is good. They've also had the rights to the entire Power Rangers library for a few months now and they haven't placed them into rotation, I think both shows will be added at the same time in early 2011 to form an action hour. Voltron Force might be with them as well since the hsow is slated to premier in early 2011 on Nicktoons as well.

Wasn't the official press release about the buyout by Nick where they claimed the plan was to air it alongside DBZ Kai in Fall '10? I think they're a tad bit late.

This. Also, I've seen commercials for Power Rangers on regular Nick, so hopefully with Turtles poised to become their premiere action brand it, too, will air on Nick!

Yes, it did, and it said that TMNT would air, and I quote, "This season" (which I, along with a lot of OTHER fans, it seems, was ASSUMING) meant the 2010-2011 TV season (but we ALL know what they say about "never assume anything"!).

If this IS the 2K3 TMNT series from 4Kids that they're talking about, I'M just hoping that they not EDITTING stuff out of it to the poinT that it's NOT worth WATCHING anymore. But THAT shouldn't be, as they KNOW (as does the whole TMNT fandom) that 4Kids, DID, indeed, produce/make it. So I'M just as confused as everyone else about this.

As to DBZ Kai, isn't IT running on 4Kids right now, as WELL as on Nick(Toons)? What's up with that?!

With (seemingly) ONE exception to this, YOU'RE the ONLY one who would. I, for one, would be competely and totally P*issed OFF!

I mean, WHAT was the point of spending 60 Million ON the Global Intellectual Rights to the franchise if ALL you're going to do is SIT on it for all of eternity and NOT doing anything WITH it?! Pretty STUPID thing TO do, if you ask me!

My guess (and this is just a guess) they aren't doing it yet because they are saving it for when 2011 does come, which isn't very far off, they'll play it as a build up for the fall when the new series comes into play.

How many eps comprise 2K3, FF and BTTS? If they showed one a day, how long would it take to air them all - about six months??

I'm pretty sure they are biding their time. When they feel it is the right time to air it they will.

Since it won't it would be pointless and most likely confusing to fans who aren't "in the know". They need to let people forget about 2K3 before their new show airs.

How many eps comprise 2K3, FF and BTTS? If they showed one a day, how long would it take to air them all - about six months?? There are 156 episodes it would take them about 5 months to air them all.
