Arguably, yes. It's unlicensed in America, but it's not like profit is being siphoned from the rights-holders if they won't make the effort to push their own product.

The DVD has never been licensed. The one that's out there is a fansub of the old VHS tapes. There is nothing illegal about owning a licensed DVD from another part of the world. Bootleg is bootleg no matter where you are.

I downloaded it via a torrent a while back but I don't think I am allowed to post the link on here. But it is out there.

The only 100% legal way to get it would be to track down the Japanese VHS tapes, although those wouldn't have any subtitles. If you're going to buy the bootleg DVD, it would be a better idea in my opinion to just download the fansub and burn it to DVD yourself. The quality will most likely be about the same, and the subtitles will probably be much more intelligible. The original creators don't get any money either way, but at least with the fansub, your money isn't going to the companies that make bootlegs.

You must have me confused with someone else, sir. I wouldn't dare sell an unlicensed product. :embarass::shifty:

I bought mine off eBay 9 years ago for $10 bucks.

Decent-enough set, but that was before the things were available for free online. Get em that way, if you're smart.

I got a copy on ebay. It came in a regular case with a cover and all that jazz, even had a picture on the disc & subtitles.
I guess it's the closest thing to an official version? I dunno.

I personally love the two episodes we got & wish there were more.

Aside from the Japanese VHS, yup. I believe it's the only DVD available in the world. :ohwell:

Y'know, I had been spreading it around that this was a Chinese DVD for some reason a while back. Had it confused with another anime DVD I bought with Chinese and Engrish subtitles... Anyhow, since this only has English subs, I'm thinking it was done by some Turtle-fan who just provided literal translations, and that's why some of the wording is awkward.

I want to see this pretty bad, they look really different. I love how TMNT takes on so many different styles of stories and artists.
