I'm not exaclty sure what this is , i'm assuming like a school project or some small time director trying to go the " Mortal Kombat Rebirth " route

It's interesting.. not bad visually. but they made the foot go from a highly trained stealthy class of ninjas to a bunch of common goons wearing hoodies and paintball mask.

none the less , worth checking out to see the version or Raph

This **** sucked. Though Raph didn't look half bad. The foot looked like graffiti artist.....:ohwell:

EDIT: I wrote the above statement in an angry fury after just waking up and not giving the video a proper chance. After re watching it, it's pretty damn good for a student project. Very realistic and Raph does look damn good. Pretty damn cool.

This is pretty good the Raph costume looks like a cabbage patch doll heh. Not knocking the costume since its really good. I did get some Mortal Kombat Rebirth vibes from it but this most likely is a fan film done with a relatively small budget while MKR had an actual budget even if small and done by professionals. Speaking of fanfilms I want that Casey Jones one finished. Who knows maybe its the teaser trailer for the new movie :lol: ;)

The foot were just terribly portrayed though

the end shot of raph was really cool.

At begining Raph remember me the first movie (its to fast to see it well).... I like the slim fingers showing in the sewer cover, much more realistic than big plastic ones...the shell is different and looks good for me, even with border of the shell to out , the torax is most weird for me, more human than turtle....but also seems to me more easy to move the actor inside...the last image (I stopped the frame for see the face) is nice! Curious the lips, and great eyes!!!...

Agree with comments about Foot...

I got the Purple Dragon vibe. Like this is the begging of the Foot and they haven't quite gone from just being thugs to trained ninja. Like Shreeder has just taken over this gang. I don't know what the director/writer was going for.

But I have to say this is freaking sweet. I loved it. I really hope that people who make this have good luck and keep their love for move making alive and that we can expect great things from them.

&& I agree with you carl, I looked on their Facebook and twitter for more info but they really don't say much about what they're doing/trying to do.

Having April be a blogger is a great way to bridge old toon with the comic backstory. I mean, what computer/engineering grad student doesn't have a blog?

The Raph costume was cool, and I actually didn't mind the thugs being...thug like.

My hopes is that this'll be a continuing series.

Nice modern take, Raph costume was pretty cool. I dont get the gas mask costumes for the Foot. Maybe if they needed them to breath or some like Nuclear war thing.. seemed liked Riddick almost..

The "gas mask Foot" is from the idea that Oroku Saki just took over a gang and hasn't quite trained them into Ninjas just yet. This leads me to my main problem with this film: there isn't anything explaining this within the film itself.

Other than that, I really like it!

great cinematography for a fan film! the last few shots were killer. aside from the "front/chest/abs" shell design, the costume was fantastic. april was a babe!

like most fan films, the story and characters were garbage... nay, nonexistent. i understand that it was probably supposed to look like a scene cut from a longer film, but it needs to stand on it's own. give us more story and character next time, please.

the editing and direction were pretty funky... but... it's a fan film! practice makes perfect! i enjoyed the snot out of it.

I didnt like the foot and although the costume was well made for Raph I didnt care for the look at all. I like the classic part 1 movie look best and really hope they go that route for the new movie.

It would be really cool if the people who made it decided to make like a web series. I know that could get expensive on their part, but they did such an amazing job I would love to see more.

I think Raph's face is DOPE, but the super-human plastron, is cheesey.

Would have worked better had they not called those guys Foot. They could have been some random gang. Raph looked okay. I think his face was too human. The 3D shot at the end was pretty horrible.

My only major gripe is the music is taken from other movies. The end music is from Sunshine.

It ultimately arrives at "Those aren't Ninjas. Those are a street gang Saki took control of." Unfortunately this wasn't included in the film itself.

Also, seems everyone but hardcore TMNT fans (Drome members) likes this a lot.

People who have no idea how to make something like that would be very impressed by it. It's a lot harder to be impressed by something you could do yourself and see ways it could be improved.

Like music, a musician will always be harsher critic then someone who just listens. A guitar player knows how much effort and thought went into writing a song and playing it.

That's not to say this wasn't well done, there's just little things they could have fixed easily to make it that much better. In the defense of Dromers we're the hardcore turtles fans. Something silly like calling guys in gas masks Foot Solders isn't going to sneak by us un-criticized. Even if they weren't supposed to be there's indication given that they are. If the makers wanted to tell us otherwise they should have. Explaining it in text off screen or after the fact doesn't count.

That would've made more sense and everyone probably would be dismissing the gas masks as just trying to hide their faces and that's about it. But the fact they stated: "Fight the Foot", too many statements of the same thing, another one of the more common things was: "I didn't like the fact they gave him lips"
Which I agree with, just don't care all that much.

I think people are forgetting this is a fanfilm, they are dissecting it as if it was truly the trailer to the new movie. The film is fantastic, it clearly had a decent budget and was great even if it was very short. Yeah the masks dudes were likely supposed to be the foot, so what? Its just a short fanfilm enjoy it for what it is its not like they are even called the foot, if it bothers you that much call them purple dragons. The gas masks gave them their eyes a similar look to what normal foot wear, this is done in a more realistic setting where the foot are likely not ninjas, not to dissimilar to the Mortal Kombat realistic movie pitch.

Pretty good film overall. I didn't like the Foot Ninja with the Texas accent because it was too cheesy. Loved Raph's costume though. It may not be perfect, but it's pretty good for a fan film. I really hope they do more of this.

It's generally cool, but I still keep thinking kind of "eh" for some reason.

This film was very professionally done. I actually didn't mind the Foot soldier outfits - I got a vibe that they were kinda based on that gang that attacked April in the old cartoon. But I didn't like the Raph outfit. Maybe because I'd just watched The Dark Knight but it looked like Bat-Turtle.

I notice a lot of fan projects are hung up on changing the "classic" look of the Turtles. Not sure why that is.

Still, it was a pretty cool project.

It was very nicely shot, and I really liked the idea of local sounding foot thugs. Although, can you beat the "Shut it." command from the foot soldier in movie #1? If all goes well, the new movie will have this dark look and feel.

I remember this. I like them both for different reasons. The Casey one had a much better Foot costumes (it says fight the Foot not fight the Purple Dragons or whatever).
The FTF one had a better Raph Costume which was somewhat reminiscent of the Next mutation as well as a decent little fight scene.
To be fair though the FTF one looked just like a little fan film that would be the end of it. The Cosey Jones one was a trailer for a longer movie to be shot. Either way I'd like to see more.

almost every youtube video that have talked about the tmnt re-boot have used that image. The plastron and Carapace still bugs the hell out of me, more on the artwork, not that terribly much on the short film since we saw so little of it.

why are there shoulder straps-like bridges on the shell? makes the shell look like a bodyarmor rather then a part of their natural body.

Very well done!
The Last 20 seconds or so gave me goosebumps, great choice of music, very atmospheric.

April is beautiful, she reminds me of Sarah Connor from the Terminator TV series.

I really hope this has something to do with the official movie, I'd love it to have this tone!

I sort of have two differing opinions, If this is from the official movie then well I hate it, I dont like the looks of Raph or the "Foot Soilders" and hope this isnt what I've been waiting on.

But if this is a project of just regular people in college or something, then its amazing work, I just dont care for the looks of either Raph or the Foot Soilders, but when you dont have a big movie budget to work with its quite understandable.

While it would be nice to think that I doubt they're that far along in the production, at least at the time this was made. I also assume anyone working for Platinum Dune wouldn't just copy paste someone else's soundtrack into their short, use After Effects to create a cityscape, or demo CGI that's low quality.

I think it's great for a fan production but it's most defiantly nothing official.

Im sure youre probably right, and if it is in fact just a fan production its something they should be proud of, I want to see more of it.

I actually just went back to the early twitter posts of Fight the Foot because I thought maybe I could find out some more info on what they have put out. Well one of the earliest posts on there was a retweet from that chicks twitter saying "When I played TMMT at school recess I was always forced to be April O'Neil when everyone else fought turtle style. Today I took recess back." So I clicked on her twitter, googled her to see some pictures and realized it was indeed her in the youtube video. It mentions on her wiki page she was a major in film and television production. So that makes sense how shed be involved, hell maybe she's the one in charge of producing the video, I have no idea, just throwing an idea out there.

It was a decent fan video. Looked nice. It made me re-question how the crap a turtle can be a ninja. Just watching the dude walking around with that big freakin shell on his back made me just question, why and how?

It was all pretty damn good anyhow, so I digress. The last scene was incredibly cheesy though.
