I looked up info on the pilot online and I found this
"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Debuting this season on Nicktoons, is based on four mutant turtles — trained in the art of Ninjitsu — who battle evil from the New York sewers. The animated series was recently acquired by Nickelodeon and is jointly produced by 4Kids Entertainment and Mirage Studios. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is considered one of the most popular kids’ television programs and was created in 1984 by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird as a successful comic book series."

This to me means that all they're premiering after the awards is the 2K3 series. Makes sense they said they were going to do this. It also explains why there's been no advertising for the new toon yet or anything else. By now there'd already be some trailer or preview. They'd be promoting the hell out of it. I'm sure the new toys would be out already.
I could be wrong here and maybe next month we'll start seeing promos but I have a feeling that's not going to happen. They may have the pilot ready for viewing but that doesn't mean it will air. They usually do a full or at least half season before they start airing.

I don't know why anyone expected to see the new series, even if it was only the first episode, debut this early.
We're definitely not going to see anything until late 2011 at the earliest. They haven't even begun any marketing yet, no new toyline or licensed crap has been announced, the movie is still a year off, etc.
I'd say late 2011 is when we'll get the first promos.

I assumed we weren't seeing anything till 2012 so yeah. I was surprised to see people buzzing about the pilot airing after the Kids Choice Awards.

I'm not expecting to see anything tell 2012. I want to see what they have up their sleves, even if it was just sketches. But the news that we will be seeing the 2k3 series before the new one I'm okay with that.

"Hey Rob! Just saw the screening of the reels for TMNT here at work. Great to have you back in turtle green again."

Sweet! Let's hope they can pull something together by the end of the year. If everyone likes it then they can start finishing off the rest of the season.

Dang...how'd I miss that! :D
Wait...the Archie Comics TMNT Adventures artist is attached to Nickelodeon as a Series Director. Am I alone in my excitement on this?

NICE!!! I'm definitely excited... :D Maybe we'll see other TMNT people on facebook with a similar title..
Well I really wasn't expecting the pilot that early so this isn't surprising news. Comic-Con is only a few months away and thats when we'll likely see a ton of stuff about the new movie/show. Depending on the release date of the movie/show in 2012 is when we'll see figures, I'm guessing its likely summer for the movie and fall for the new show so no toys until May 2012.

Sounds like they just finished the first episode. So the rest of the season will probably be worked on through the rest of this year and the beginning of the next.
I hope we get a 20 ep season like most Nick shows get

You guys are all making good points. I was one of the Naive people thinking it would air soon , but only because this is what wikipedia says ( as of 1 minute ago )
Third animated series (2011)
Nickelodeon has acquired the global rights to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles from the Mirage Group and 4Kids Entertainment, Inc. and have announced that they are moving forward on development on a new CGI-animated TMNT television series which will premiere after the 2011 Kids' Choice Awards.

I'm not looking for anything until 2012 since that's when they originally stated it was going to air. But if we get it early, that would be cool. Let's just hope it's not on just Nicktoons because I don't get that channel.

I just now realized what the topic title meant, in spite of reading the posts. -_- I kept thinking it was referring to April not being in the pilot episode.

You're not alone in that one, Venom. I thought the same thing at first.
