I have some more, but it is mostly 2k3 releases. I got a complete set for my then 4 year old daughter to open and play with, and kept a duplicate MOC set for her that is stored so she has it when she is older. She is 11 now and loves the turtles. I have the Sideshow set + mouser, a lot of the comics (I am still completing that set), and some odds and ends. I only collect the pieces I want rather than mass quantities of figures. :)

I just pick them up whenever I get the chance. I keep looking for one that will grade an 85, but finding these is afa 85 shape is nearly an impossible task. I guess I keep them all so I don't end up repurchasing a repeat.

Well, I purchased them and paid full Ebay prices for them. I suppose anyone could have bought them, so it is not like I had a sweet deal. Sorry you feel that way. I love the Scratch t-shirt you made me. It is top quality.

In that case, yer crazy, dude! Those ebay prices are ridiculous if we're talking buy-it-nows.
You just must be a dedicated Scratch fan rather than one of the scalper collectors.

Yeah, I think if I could eventually find me an afa 85 I would be able to let the other ones go. Not sure, though. I would kinda like to get them all graded to preserve them before I send them out into the world.

It varies greatly depending on size, fair market value of the item, and various options (such as type of plexi they use)

It's bad enough that you're hoarding so many Scratch's, but you would grade them which would JACK UP the price? sheesh.

I don't understand? Why do you put comics in boards and sleeves? To protect and preserve, right? I guess I should toss em around in the backyard, really beat them up, or maybe even open them so that their value decreases. That makes sense. I would like them around in pristine condition 50 years from now that they still exist. Man, a lot of haters on this forum. Really too bad.

It cost about 100 dolllars when all is said and done. That includes grading costs, plus insurance and shipping both ways. You wouldn't want to do it for most TMNT figures unless it was a higher value figure or unless you just loved the figure.

yeah I'm not really seeing where you guys have any reason to have beef with this guy. This community is built on sharing the things you love with like minded people. Getting on this guys case for his collection is really petty, and just make you look childish and jealous.

That is really stiff price consider no any other MOC figures than scratch is worth more than 150$... ...

Yes, it is pretty steep. That is one reason I only have one graded. I have had a lot of items graded over the years (usually $500+ figures), and so I won't send another Scratch in until I am pretty confident with an AFA 85. My graded one was pretty close, with subgrades of 80/85/90.

Well, I can say that I am far from bored and far from rich. I am an attorney in California that spends a lot of time working hard. Enjoying TMNT with my daughter is a way we can connect and have fun together. The 2k3 toys and cartoon came out at a time when my daughter and I needed something to enjoy together. We started watching the show and collecting the toys together. Because of that, TMNT has a special place in my heart and has created a lot of important memories for me. Anyway, that's a little insight into me. I just say collect what interests you and, most importantly, have fun.
Yeah That's sounds cool and I think that's excellent you and your daughter enjoy them together ! I feel more passion when I read this but what I meant was, that just sound crazy when we see that scratch seven sins army. that's nuts ! everybody here knows how hard it is to get only one carded , so I assume you wanna make some heart crisis around here :tlol:
I just don't get why you need that much but anyway, you work hard , you deserve what you want ;) thanks for the request btw.

I'm in the same boat, actually. I LOVE TMNT but my interest has been dwindling hard lately. I "force" to keep myself into it, but it's not working, it makes it worse. I will always love TMNT but I'm at a point where I'm just so tired and bored of collecting. Everyday I try to convince myself to not sell my collection but I might soon. Collecting is putting a hole in my pocket and at this point it just feels excessive, I really have no more joy in it :-(
I think that I might just stop collecting completely for a few months, come back and see how I feel about it.

I know where you are coming from. Collecting is actually a really nice release for me. I collect a lot of different things, and if I stop enjoying something, I try to find a good home for those collectibles. When I need a break from reality, it is nice to go into my collection room, sit down with a drink, and relax looking at a reminder of the lighter side of life.

You Know where I'm coming from? I don't get that litteraly btw I think I did not express what I was thinkin, Still need to improve my english. I'm not sayin my interest is gone nor I'm bored about Tmnt, I only collect Tmnt stuff as kid memories and I just have a year of knowledge behind me so I think I have time left to be fed up with this. hunt is quite finish but still Love collecting and feel happy with a new grab.

Very nice collection you have there! I don't see anything wrong with owning multiples of one figure. I would rather have multiples of a figure I really like, than to "buy just to buy" figures I really didn't care if I had or not. Personally I have way too many Genghis Frog's. I have over 20 loose. I buy them when I see them because he was my favorite as a kid and I figure why not? I don't buy them to make others happy, they make me happy and that's what matters. I would love to have mutiples of Scratch, but for now I just have 1 loose complete w/ the opened package. Keep buying what you enjoy, don't let anyone else make you think twice! :D

I picked this guy up off of Ebay this week. Subgrades are C:80/B:85/F:85 for an overall AFA 80. Subgrade on the figure is lower than my other graded Scratch, but was happy to get it. Before anyone gets mad at me for hoarding, this seller listed the figure about 3 or 4 times before I purchased it, and he finally came down in price.

I hear you man. It really isn't about the money, though. It's about having fun and enjoying your collection, right? :). If it were about the money, I would have invested my cash in something other than plastic toys and comics. I usually don't buy things unless I would be happy to own the item even if the value fell to nothing. That's why I don't collect Barbies (well, there are other reasons too)..

That prototype has been on ebay for a long time. Being that no one has ever bid on it, I figure either it's not authentic or no one wants or has the cash to spend on it. Seems like a gamble to me unless someone else can authenticate it, but hey, whatever floats your boat. Being that your collections seems to prominently favor Scratch, this would be a great addition to your awesome collection. Good luck.

They are very fragile, as they are made of jeweler's wax. The wax sculpts in my collection are kept in a temperature controlled display case because of their fragility.
Very nice, very clean and simple collection man. Love the focus and the overall display.
I really don't understand all the haters sort of bashing you. We all spend money and time and energy on what we want. i would love to have all those personally. i just sent hot spot in to get graded. i have a scratch as well in a acrylic case, it has a crack in the top of the bubble or i might have sent it in to get graded, still contemplating it.
Also i saw you pay like $100 bucs to get graded? you know theres different tiers you can put the item under to not pay nearly as much. it only cost me $30 befor $3 cleaning(i always get) and then like $3-7 for insurance, and round $20 roundway for shipping.
Keep up the good work

That's pretty neat.
I suppose all those scratch figures would be great to trade if you decide to branch out some more. 85 from the AFA is very good. I have bought 3 of a figure/grading looking for an 85 and stopped after that. I am willing to pay a premium for a figure in 85 condition compared to 80 after that experience.

Mine is an 80 with us grades of 85/85/80. I was doing the same to try and get an 85 scratch but just have not sent the others in. I was able to upgrade my TMNT #2, #3, and #4 first prints to 9.8's. I would like to upgrade my #1 to a 9.4 or 9.6, which is on my list.

Alright Scanderson, i got myself a Hot Spot MOC. I dont plan on getting a ton of them though, it looks like it will grade atleast an 80 which is good enough for me. I dont have it in my hands yet so i dont know if it has those small surface wrinkles that cause turtles to score 80.
Congrats!! Hope it arrives in great condition. I love that figure.

Man, I need to update my pics. I grabbed some really cool stuff this last year. Gotta at least get pics of my Lego exclusive Leo and Krang and my two sets of Toy Fair turtles with matching numbers. Also upgraded my mirage #2-4 to 9.8's. Need to break down and upgrade my #1 into the 9.0+ range.

Added a few pics above, including 26 framed original art storyboards from IDW Issues #1-#4 by Eastman, each one signed on the art and back of frame. Also included are two complete sets of the Toy Fair Turtles (one set is the matching numbers #097 and the other is the matching set #227). Also included are the Lego exclusives. Finally, there are a couple for Eastman sketches.

Wow, 2 matching numbered sets of the Toy Fair figures. Congrats! :)
You know, those Lego figures would look great in an acrylic display box... ;-) lol (inside joke) - I've still got mine in the USPS box they came in at the moment... :ohwell:
Would love to see what you do if you plan on get some kind of display for them.
Thanks for the pics. Those scratch figures still look as impressive as when I first saw them ;-)

Looking to upgrade my TMNT #1. Debating on getting the 9.8, but 15k+ is a lot. I am thinking that I should wait until the hype of 2012 Nick & IDW series die down.

I doubt very much you'll see any downward movement on that particular book in regards to the film or the show. That book tends to only go down in value when more 9.8's are added to the registry.

Nice collection! It's always nice to see someone with some obvious passion and direction for their collection. I almost feel like their is a sub-club to being on the Technodrome... the hatin' on club. I've been a victim... oh, I mean, member. :trolleye::tlol: No worries. There's a lot more people like yourself, than the other, they just tend to be louder...
I'm the same way about sharing turtles with my son! It brings an extra layer of enjoyment to the franchise that you can share something like this with your kid. To see that same light in their face enjoying the turtles is just awesome! I think that's why I enjoy the Nick show so much, my son and I are in it together. I wish you the best and keep on looking til you get your AFA 85 Scratch!

I don't see the point in having that many scratches. It's like buying into the reputation and rumors given to it. Investment wise it was genius. Cool stuff none the less

I agree totally about being able to share it with your son. My little boy is 3 and he really likes TMNT. I mean he likes most Disney JR shows better but it's still fun to play with Turtle toys together. He has an RC Shellraiser, the role play gear, and all the classic collection. I've also got him a couple of the new toys as well. I have all of them MIB but you know how 3 year olds are about toys and they'll just play with them a little and then pick up something else. So I've not bought him everything. His fave is Donnie and mine is Raph. I also got him a Raph pillow pet and he LOVES it. It is so cool to share that with him.

Sorry, what?
Sorry I think my point was clear....?
The collection is based on a figure that most people that grew up on tmnt in the 80s don't even know. That was what I stated. Sheesh.
