Thought people might be interested in this. I'm not trying to amass a big collection, but just a small one that will mean a lot to me.

Here's the start of it. Three original turtles signed by their voice actors: Cam Clarke, Townsend Coleman, and Rob Paulsen. In the future I will try to get Barry Gordon's and hopefully others as well! In addition to this, they have all been signing my season 1 DVD cover as well. It's been fun getting these. I've been fortunate enough to have contact with a lot of the Mirage folks, so this was nice to get to meet the cartoon guys (albeit long-distance).

Yes, these are soft-heads. I have Donny as well, just unsigned right now. April and Krang too, and I'll definitely get Shredder and Splinter sometime.

There is just something about the look of a figure with an autograph on it that screams class. Should make for a really nice display when its all said and done. Congrats.

I've heard that autographs actual can bring down the value when it comes to signed toys....not always, but in some cases. Is that true? I've heard of people sending their autographed toys to AFA and it comes back with a lower grade since it has writing on it that can't be confirmed or authenticated with them. While the idea of autographed toys is awesome to me, I still want to know I have the highest grade of anything so it makes me hesitant to buy anything autographed unless it's a duplicate.

Anyone else hear anything similar regarding this?

Yes you are correct. Toys and baseball cards with autographs, although very cool, are considered devalued when signed. Comic books are the expection to the rule.

yeah, I figured that. Comics you can get the CGC grade on it now so that helps although I don't collect a lot of comics with sigs on them either (only a few duplicate ones) because I've had comics that over time have had the ink from the sigs bleed through the cover and onto the pages staining them which to me degrades the condition of the comic. I think when you get a comic signed, it's more about the signature than the condition of the comic anyway.

I might get a small set of duplicate MOC figs signed but definitely not my fanclub, soft head ones. I wish I wasn't so particular about the condition of my collection. I just like knowing I have the best of whatever it is I'm collecting.
