Hello all, Jester here. A while back, during the 25th anniversary, I proposed doing some sort of fan commentary of one of the more lackluster entries in the TMNT universe, to kinda lovingly MST3k the crud out of it. Last week, oldmanwinters approached me about bring it back, and once we worked out the logistics, we came up with this. There is mostly static shots of the 1st episode here, to avoid copyright infringement...heck if you know a good site to upload audio files for sharing, please share. you should be a be to sync this too the first episode pretty well.
Here's part 1:

and here's part 2:

EDIT: Visit this page for the audio only commentary for the first 5 episodes:

Ah, figures the Angry Video Game Nerd would try and steal our thunder!
http://www.cinemassacre.com/2011/02/26/upcoming-tmnt-videos-this-year/

Now everybody will accuse us of ripping him off!:tlol:

Well, maybe he's just gonna do some overview videos. Anyway, we're bigger Turtle nerds than he is.:tgrin:
Also, Jester's Pat Fraley impersonation of Krang is awesome!

After the initial "season" (the 5 part pilot) we plan to be a bit more random in our choice of episodes, and maybe even intergrate "guest commentators" (logistics permitting).

Not only that... the Nostalgia Critic also reviewed all 5 episodes.

Yeah, I remember that from back in December, but he also did an overview review. I guess he and the Nerd tend to cover a lot of the same material.

Yep, and once we finish the pilot, we'll have the whole deep TMNT universe to play with: The OT, the NT, and maybe the movies, comics, and....dare I say....Next Mutation and other heart shattering TMNT oddities. (I'm looking at you Coming out of Their Shells tour!)

I heard the commentary, it's pretty cool. I'm not sure but wasn't that secretary also seen in TMNT issue 1 of the Mirage comics? Saki was also running a sort of fake security organization before the Turtles challenged him to the rooftops.

As far as I remember Saki's taking a meeting, but we don't see his secretary.

I LOLd at OT Leo's "bloody" swords at 6:51. And the Venus reference.

This is pretty good. I'd like to see more of this then.

I'm glad everybody is getting some laughs out of the video, but I do hope we are able to find a good repository for hosting the audio files. My dream is to create a TMNT equivalent of what this guy did with the DC Animated Universe cartoons:
http://www.dccommentaries.com/
Hopefully we'll be able to order commentary tracks by series and create a nice fan resource for further enjoyment.

I figure if people want to listen to a track, they can download each file individually and then listen to it while they watch their DVDs.

A 3-person commentary? Man, that'd be interesting! I can think of a couple good episodes I'd love to review.

That's the plan for some future installments, to draft a 3rd fan so it is Winters, Me and a him/her.

Ok everyone, I have a question: The plan is for Winters and me to finish the pilot then play it by ear, and randomly choose an episode to do a commentary on. We have a shot list of OT episodes we wanna look at (Legend of Koji, New York's Shiniest, Wererats from Channel 6, ect) but we also thought it might be a good idea to ask other 'Dromers what episodes (OT, NT, or otherwise) they wanted to see us look at. So, I ask: What now? :D

Anything would be worth seeing.... :) I wouldn't mind a commentary on Things Change..

We've discussed Wererats if only because of quite possibly the biggest animation boo-boo in the history of TMNT.

You should at least do all of season 2. it was short, the episodes were linked more, and it slowly shows how the series regressed from the kick-ass season 1 to the more sillier stuff from season 3 and onwards.

Season 2 would be interesting to go through, since it is compact enough to comment on the continuity and early enough in the series that key characters are still being introduced and developed.

Also, it would be cool to comment on how the lair layout changes widely between Seasons 1-3.

Hmm... I'm always game for TMNT episodes! The Eye of Sarnoth arc would be a great series to tackle, especially given its ties to the Archie Comics. I won't complain if you want to skip "Teenagers from Dimension X," since it has all the annoyance of the Neutrinos but none of the cool animation seen in "Hot Rodding Teenagers from Dimension X." :-P

Yeah...what makes those episodes different again? Sorry, I've been trying to watch TMNT season 2 after my 12 hour shifts at work...I tend to fall asleep after a few minutes....BECAUSE I'M TIRED....not bored.
