Some more for my collection that arrived today. :tgrin:

[IamtheNorm]

Yeah, it has some good stuff in it. Turtles with fan clubs, some figures with pop-ups, and a bunch of variants. There are several in the lot that have warped, loose or cracked bubble. But I figure I can always sell those or open them and start a loose collection. Since all of the figures I have are MOC.

[papa_smurf73]

Came across your collection... Looks great. Where are you located in Ohio? I live just past Kings Island. :) Maybe I've asked you this already lol... I like to try and connect with folks here who are local to me.

[IamtheNorm]

Ahh right on man. The collection is looking great. :) Keep the pictures coming. :)

[nofuture4u]

Sweet collection dude. Love it. My heart is in ohio:trazz:

[IamtheNorm]

I am having a bit of a dilemma, I have taken down and pack away a lot of my collection that wasn't part of my ninja turtle collection. Now I have a lot of extra space and no ideas how to display my collection. Do I organize by year, character, heroes vs. villains? :???:

[Nelson]

I am having a bit of a dilemma, I have taken down and pack away a lot of my collection that wasn't part of my ninja turtle collection. Now I have a lot of extra space and no ideas how to display my collection. Do I organize by year, character, heroes vs. villains? :???:

If I had the space I would display them in groups, as in basic heroes, basic villains, wacky action, movie figures, etc. I would even add a little plaque or something indicating the name of the group and year of release.

[papa_smurf73]

You know, I'm on the same boat. When I eventually get a new pad, I'm totally going to have a turtle room, but I'm not sure how I will display my gear. So please keep us posted as to what you end up doing. I would love to put my carded figs on a wall... I just don't like the idea of using push pins.

I really like the idea of grouping them by year, and type. If you need help with that, see the turtle inventory link in my signature. I think it would be neat to see the progression of changes from year to year on a wall.

[IamtheNorm]

I went through and sorted everything by year it was made, and I think it turned out really good. It's a bit annoying that the cards aren't all the same size, but what are you going to do about that? I have been taking photos and will add some soon, but the one photo I have right now I liked so much that I added it as my desktop background.

[koenne]

Like it ! More pictures please..
Cowabunga!!

[FearlessLeader]

The last of my photos, Max Winters is signed by Patrick Stewart

Your collection is amazing!

Just curious did you meet Patrick Stewart??

He is by far one of the nicest actors I have ever met, such a gentleman and very sweet! :tsmile:

[IamtheNorm]

Thanks. Yeah I did, he was at a wizard world convention that my wife and I went to last year.

[IamtheNorm]

I just got these back from AFA today.:tgrin:

In any case, welcome to the club :-)

Are you the 23k TMNT #1 9.8 buyer too?

Yeah I grabbed the 9/10. I figured I had the opportunity so I took it, and am very happy I did.

No the 23k was not me, that's too rich for my blood. I was actually shocked when I read what it sold for. It's pretty cool though. I have one and am waiting for a local convention to go and get it graded, not sure what it will be graded at but I'm hoping for it to be above a 9.0

I was going through my Ninja Turtles comics today sorting out the extras' and more damaged ones, and my 6 year old asks me if he can have the extras for himself to read. It was a proud day for me, almost brought a tear to my eye :D

[andrewdsz]

[IamtheNorm]

http://i1103.photobucket.com/albums/g470/IamtheNorm/img002.jpg

My wife got me this #1 for me on my birthday two years ago. I took it to SDCC to get it graded and today I got it back. Both my wife and I were surprised at what it was graded at.

Also today I received TMNT Archie comic #50 & #58 which completes that collection. A TMNT Multiflex and the two jetpack IDW #1 variant covers. Today, I must say was a very good day for my collection :D

Very nice bro.

Did they require you to unbag it, or was it unbagged to begin with?

[IamtheNorm]

Did they require you to unbag it, or was it unbagged to begin with?

They asked me if he was complete when I handed them the bag I had him in, I said yes and that was it. So to answer your question, no they didn't have unbag it. :)

[TheCanadiandrome]

That's cool. Wonder if they'd do semi complete ones

[Archon_Turtle]

They asked me if he was complete when I handed them the bag I had him in, I said yes and that was it. So to answer your question, no they didn't have unbag it. :)

Nono. The figure originally came in a bag (as opposed to on card) so I was asking if they made you remove it from the factory bag for grading, or if it was already loose.

Nice find. Those are pretty tough to come by. By far the rarest roleplay item. Grats.

[Plasticplayhouse]

wow man your collection is insane!!! you must be like those people who do the extreme couponing only a tmnt version....extreme turtleing! by no means am i cracking on you, i think your collection is very impressive, but i can tell that you invest a lot of time, energy, and love into it. i wish my wife respected my passion for turtles as yours seems to, but she just doesnt get it.

[TheCanadiandrome]

I love that sword

Sorry for the delay I am not the best when it comes to getting back to people. Thanks, I love collecting and I enjoy sharing with others what I can get my hands on. I try not to get too carried away with it and at times I will "try" to take a break, but then I come across something that just pulls me back in. I have a lot of fun with my collection and at times wish I had more time to put into organizing, cataloging and displaying it. It's funny you mention wives because just last night my wife made a crack about me being obsessive about it, but you know what it's a part of who we are whether or not they get it.

[IamtheNorm]

Nice find. Those are pretty tough to come by. By far the rarest roleplay item. Grats.

I use your collection as reference when it comes to harder to find items (hope you don't mind) and tend to keep an eye out for them. I saw the sword and it the price seemed right so I pick it up and I am very happy I did.

I love that sword

It is a very cool sword and I am very happy I was able to find one. The first thing I wanted to do was take it out of the box and start swinging it around. Oh well, maybe I'll try find another one for "my kids".

[IamtheNorm]

It's been awhile since I have been on here, let alone updated anything. So here are a few additions to my collection since the last time.

The Splinter came in the mail today and the Metalhead w/o the starburst came about a month ago. I am very excited about these two pieces and I am planning on getting them graded soon.

I would be very excited too. I missed out on a metal head like that a couple weeks ago on eBay, i will get the next one. I have actually seen 3 in the past 3 months which is pretty uncommon. Two of them were listed buy it now for $70 and i was not at the right place at the right time.

Splinter looks very nice. I hope the grading goes well. Another user on the forum had a very tough time getting one of their fan club variants graded. Did you trade for this figure, or did you find it on eBay? I keep looking at the April Fan club that is listed right now but the seller wants quite a bit for it.

Congrats, those are some very nice pieces.

Thanks, I hope it goes well too. I ended up finding them both off of ebay. I made an offer for the figure and the seller accepted it, which was I was kinda surprised by. I have made an offer for that April as well, but the guy didn't accept it. Maybe one day.

[JOEMOE]

Maybe one day.

Thats the spirit. April is the easiest to find of the fan club variants anyway. However, my offer was declined as well. Like you said, one day.

[Scotty TuffGuy1979]

Rare fan club figures are my favorites, awesome you got a splinter, metalhead is great to

[OA]

The no starburst Metalhead was always my favorite carded variant that always seemed to not get much love from the collector base at large. Which was good for me back when I was buying figures, because I was able to pick up a few of them through the years at low prices. And FCs are always awesome. Congrats!

For the time being until I have a little more room to display the stuff I currently have, I am going to keep them sealed. But yeah I agree they are both very cool pieces, thanks.

Hey dude, I ended up buying that April, I had to sell a couple figures to make it happen, but I'm happy. I sent in a genghis frog with bagged grenades and fan club April to be graded yesterday. I'm excited.

Have you sent in metalhead / splinter?

That's awesome. I did actually, I sent them in late last week and recieved my invoice for them. So on Monday I am going to check the status of them and see how far along they are with the process.

[Scotty TuffGuy1979]

They wouldn't grade my splinter at first AFA told me they never made one with fan club, hope you have good luck, I did get mine graded in the end, it just took forever!!!!!

Thanks man. He was funny when asking what how detailed I wanted it. "I can do 40$ crazy or up to 150$ crazy" after that I figured I needed to see what type of crazy 150 would get me. It turned out awesome and I am very happy with it.

It's been awhile but haven't had much time to collect as I would like, but I thought I would share what my wife and kids got me for Christmas.
