I just saw the movie "Independence Day" and I noticed a lot of similarities between that movie and the beginning of Season 3 of the 2k3 show, when the Triceratons invaded earth, such as the mention that earth no longer questions if there is alien life in other parts of the universe. And at that government alien tracking building in Space Invaders, when that one guy said "Aliens? You've got to be kidding me". I think something like that also happened in the movie. So I was curious if the writers of the Space Invaders trilogy were fans of Independence Day and got many ideas for this episode from that movie.
Not to mention Michaelangelo said "It's the end of the world as we know it, and I don't feel fine". Obviously a reference to the REM song, "It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine", which was played in Independence Day.
