View Full Version : The Turtles all having bladed weapons...a sign the Foot Soldiers may be robots again?

Nick seemingly gave Mike and Don blades for their weapons for a reason we do not know. As of right now all 4 Turtles have blades/sharp objects used for slashing and stabbing things.
We know the show isn't going to have the Turtles slashing up human Foot Soldiers, or other mutants or aliens for that matter.
What could the reason be behind giving them all bladed weapons, if they can't use them properly in fight scenes?
Is this a sign the Foot Soldiers may be robots again, so they can be plenty of slashing and shredding?

Don't forget the alien monster plants.

one still remains.
As for the idea of Foot being Robots like the old cartoon; hate it. Hopefully it's a change to be more "Ninja"

If I had a macro for it I'd use it but since I don't
"Clang, did you just say clang?"
Robots, wouldn't surprise me but perhaps there will be some robots and some human and alien opponents.

I definitely hope this is a reimagining of the OT, but I'm just not getting that vibe right now.
I'm with To The Nines, while I like more serious turtles, I kinda wanted to see characters and stuff from the OT that Laird considered too wacky, not exactly the OT but a re-imagining but from the little we've seen I"m not getting that vibe either. It does seem like the 2k3 universe, maybe not as serious and it'll have more (good) jokes and better personalities but not straight up OT.
I think you're seeing too much if you think bladed weapons means robot foot, many other shows also have bladed weapons that just aren't used either. However it would be nice to see thems licing up something, I almost don't understand why the OT made the foot robots counting they almost never/rarely sliced them up not to mention they rarely showed up counting they were Shredders army. Most of the time they just beat them up like they were regular human ninjas and not robots, we didn't see much slicing at all.
one still remains.

Pfffft, as if they care if a sai is not meant to stab. I sure as crud wouldn't. *stab stab*
At least now Mike's weapon and Don's are more useful *stab stab*. I still will miss Don's giant stupid stick though. He had the best sticks.... *stab stab*

i think we are going to be getting alot of the old toon characters, if you remember NICK said the cartoon is going to have alot of action but also be VERY VERY funny.
As much as I don't care for the a lot of filler old toon characters, everything is fixed thanks to pizza and stabbing. <3 Uguuuu

And as we all know, a pizza is always in need of a sharp slicer! :P

I am 100% OK with robot Foot Soldiers and hopefully this shift toward bladed weapons means we'll be getting them.
If not, then I guess this new show is going to have a LOT of conveniently dangling chandaliers with harness ropes waiting to be cut.

Sounds like someone stole my post and made it a thread :trolleye: lol what ever. I think I would prefer a mix of Human and Robot foot. Foot Elites would be human and the drones would be robots. Or use initially human and switch over to robots.

Not too fond of everyone having blades, but now that they have them they'd better slice up stuff... It sucks so much when blade wielding characters don't use their blades much... Like certain Furry underpants wearing Blonde dude that was voiced by OT Leo in his 200X return...

Are you serious? The bo is the most resourceful weapon out of all the Turtles. "Giant stupid stick"? Have you ever taken a martial arts class in your life? Go face to face with someone skillfully wielding the bo and pit it against any weapon of your choice. Most likely, the skilled bo wielder will emerge victorious. Pft.
Anyway, I'm pissed about Don's weapon change. I know how the Mikey crowd feels now. A blade for Donny, although perhaps badass, doesn't sit right with me. I prefer the more personality-kosher bo.

Ha, & to think you were laughin' at the Mikey crowd.
Chill man, the blade on Don's bo is retractable, it's still essentially a bo.

Haha, tell me about it. Funny how the winds change! Hypocritical I suppose, but it's easy to laugh off a non-favorite character's weapon change, and then when it comes to your actual favorite the fan-boy comes out swingin'. :D
I can totally deal with a retractable bo, I didn't really catch that from the pilot...thanks for the info man.
Don's weapon is my favorite, because anyone using a damn stick is cool in my book. Adding a blade to a stick only could make it cooler.

I could see a retractable blade being really cool.

I remember in Turtles Forever, the scene where 2k3 raph is stabbing robot ninja, I think they deliberately showed how much fun he was having actually being able to stab things!
ie: Robots doesn't necessarily mean less dark.
Robots doesn't necessarily mean less dark.
They do mean less potential for gore though. Thank goodness.

I wouldn't mind at all robot Foot Soldiers. In fact, if they do it right, it could be pretty cool, and as has been said, not necessarily less dark.

2k3 managed to have quite a few people shot or sliced in half with pretty much no gore

I'm hoping for something like Avatar: The Last Airbender. It had both great humour and action, but it was serious business. Perhaps the best animated series ever, after the 2k3 TMNT.
