I want Splinter to be a wise master and kick some butt. I loved his humor in 2K3 and would like to see some of that as well. I don't want him to sit on the sidelines while the Turtles fight like he did in the OT. Also, I want a more familial feel to him and have him address the Turtles as, "My sons" instead of "My Turtles."

I guess i'd like an Archie-esque Splinter, one who's their master and father, but also a valuable part of combat. As long as I recognize him, and he's a father who can kick som butt, I'll be fine.

Missed this thread, but I'd have to say I'd prefer, origin wise, OT Splinter, but not even that. Archie Comic Splinter. I liked the backstory for him there and I sorta did like the fact he was more active (even if I did hate his character design for that comic to the point where I was happy to see him not around after a while because he looked like a literal, can't be trusted, would hide in April's bathroom to get a peak of her getting out of the shower type Rat). So yeah, I prefer Human > Rat origin as, to me, it made his dislike of Saki more personal and, to me, more logical.

I don't mind the rat > mutated rat thing, but I still have that nagging voice saying, "A rat learned the art of ninjitsu from imitating his master from his cage?" I just feel more sorry for Splinter's character who went from being a human to a rat as opposed to a rat who becomes a mutated rat who trains a bunch of turtles to kill Saki to avenge his master's killer. At least with the Archie/OT storyline, it made more sense (to me) why the turtles would go after Saki. To me, the hostility was more warranted for the whole Human > Rat story and also it affected him more directly, as opposed to its being indirect going the rat > mutated rat way.

I'd prefer Splinter to have the Rat Origin, as close to the comic as they can go for a Saturday cartoon. Designwise I'd like him to be a brown rat, a Red robe/Kimono. Dependant on a cane and can hold a fight, but due to age will be limited.

if they are going for a human turned rodent origin, I really hope they do not make a episode showing he is the true heir/soke of the Foot clan. Unless he have trained the turtles to defeat Shredder and reclaim the clan. But it clashes with karai, and I'd love to see her return to the screen and be like her comic counterpart.
