View Full Version : Plans for a Turtles Forever screening...

You remember how this was supposed to have that nation-wide, one-night-only showing in theaters? You remember what a let-down it was when they cancelled it? Well, I actually have been slowly acquiring the resources needed to mimic such an event. As of now, I have a flawless projector, an 82" pulldown screen and Bose stereo speakers for it. By the end of the month, I expect to have the full cut of the movie on UK DVD as well as an upgrade to a 120" screen. So, what will I still be missing? An audience. My local friends don't care for TMNT (but, don't hate 'em AFAIK). But, one of my favorite aspects of going to the movies is sharing the excitement with like-minded individuals.

So, not that I'd ever be so bold as to extend the invitation to 'Dromers, does anyone have some useful suggestions for me? And, who knows? If I get enough positive feedback to the effect of "Ooh! I wanna go. :thyper:", I might possibly consider opening my home to you relative strangers for a one-night-only screening over the summer. ^_^

Was Turtles Forever done in HD? If it was going to have a theater showing then it would have to have a higher quality print so you'd think it should be able to get a HD release, then maybe you should just wait for the blu-ray.

Was the regular 2k3 show done in HD? What about widescreen? A lot of shows from that time seemed to be future proofing but I'm unsure about 2k3, I'm guessing the answer is no.

I'm pretty sure 2k3 was done in 4:3 standard def. I believe Turtles Forever was widescreen though, and probably HD? (not sure)

Series, 4:3 SD.
Movie, 16:9... SD AFAIK.

If they were going to show it in a theater then a higher quality print must exist.

Post the event on Facebook , make sure to make the invites public, it worked great for this (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ytech_gadg/20100921/tc_ytech_gadg/ytech_gadg_tc3675)girl.

I second the FB page if you want people to see it live. I wish they had organised a big screening of it here.

Otherwise, have it as the grand finale to the series rewatch!
