Will we get a theme song that doesn't suck?

The 4kids series has never had much luck with theme songs, (aside from Fast Forward's theme, which was actually quite catchy), so I wonder what the theme for the new series will be like.

Actually the original 4kids theme kinda grew on me. Nothing will be as iconic as the Dennis C. Brown/Chuck Lorre theme from the Fred Wolf series, but I think the big thing with that is nostalgia.

I liked the first 4Kids one. It definitely grew on me. The original was great, but also works more as a time capsule than anything.

The 4kids theme grew on me too, but not until years later. When the show first debuted I really didn't care for it. As seasons progressed, I still didn't. I stopped watching after the second or third season due to a lack of interest/ability to wake up. I copped all the DVD's in '09 and loved the show. It was at that point where I really started to dig the theme song. I guess it had been enough time for me to take off my nostalgia goggles.

I liked all the theme songs. Maybe not too much the FF one, but didn't hate it. No matter how good the Nick one is, the original one will always probably be my favourite, because of all the memories it brings to me.

But I do hope they do a great job, and I'm actually feeling impatient to hear it. Does anybody know if it's even been made yet?

Probably not. Archon said he was hoping for that when he and the other chosen went to visit Nick Studios, but it didn't happen.

Only time will tell. I didn't really like FF's theme, but I did like BTTS's theme as well as the other 4Kids themes. I also really like the OT theme because of how it brings back memories for me.

The original theme song will always be the best. Very hard to top that adrenaline rush for a TMNT theme.

The 2K3 theme for the first 5 seasons was decent. It helped me count to 4, but it still went perfectly with the show.

The Fast Forward theme sucked because this is when I realized the 2K3 series was going for a downfall. The animation changed for the worse. The show went from dark to kiddish. 2K3 started out as a show for teens and then FF seemed to be friendlier toward younger children. The change just wasn't welcomed for me. The theme however was not catchy or something I would want to associate with the TMNT.

When Back to the Sewers debuted, it was the show's chance to go back to the original 4Kids theme, however they opted to go with another horrendous kids bop theme song. I don't know for sure what pissed me off more, the theme or the animation change. I guess the animation (might of even been why I hated the theme so much). The turtles went from dark and serious (2K3), to bright and semi-serious (FF), to very cute and approachably kid friendly (BttS).

Right now based on Nick's early depictions of the TMNT, I have no faith for a great theme. I certainly don't want a great theme if the show isn't going to do the TMNT justice. Seems like the best themes for cartoons were in the golden era of the 80's -90's.

Now the OT had an awesome iconic theme song but it all depends on how the new show is. I really don't want a remake of the OT theme song (and if they don't own the Fredwolf Cartoon then they can't, heck they might just buy the OT just to be able to remake the theme). I'd only want a theme that repeats "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" if it'll be a sillier show like say Teen Titans but if its a more serious show I'd like an actual theme like say one from Batman shows etc. I was a huge fan of the 2007 films "turtle theme".

I would love some kind of updated version of the original song if the show has that style or theme to it. Something darker if the show is actually darker.

I don't know about yous guys, but I'm thinkin' of an organ-drenched kazoo madhouse, with a pair of razor-sharp violins duking it out with a triple-set of power-hungry drums layered half-hazardly in the background. It'll be like a caterpillar's cocoon - ugly, with beauty forming.

No vocals. The kazoos will be leading the way.

Maybe throw in a trombone and accordion and I think we'll have a hit.

For the new Nickelodeon series, I don’t know. I think I want an instrumental this time, something with an “In the Air Tonight” sound. We can have all these instruments playing to represent each character. For Leo, it will be the Japanese flutes, while Don will be violins. Mikey is the boombox and record scratching. For Raph, let’s see . . . heavy metal guitar! If we did want to include lyrics though, it would be the word “TMNT” repeated, and then one where it stops to “Leo, Don, Mikey, Raph! Turtle power! Cowabunga!” That would be interesting. Of course, I think Nickelback’s “Savin’ Me” would have been a perfect choice for a theme song. I put that on a TMNT soundtrack I created. I think it fits for all the main protagonists.

As for FF's theme... I actually didn't care for it. I did like the default 2k3 theme, though, except for the crap about "never fight unless someone else starts" and such, but thankfully those overly kid-friendly lyrics got changed in a later season.

The '87 toon's theme will always be the most iconic to me, though. It's possible that it's just nostalgia, but I really do love that theme song. And while I don't care for the Next Mutation, I'll admit that the "Na-na-na-na-ninja! Ninja Turtles!" part was extremely catchy.

I hope Nick can do a good job on the theme song, Ill be honest, I dont know which one I like more, the original OT theme song or the original 2k3 song. I like them both so much I like the actaul song of the 2k3 better, but I like the animation scenes better in the OT.

The old toon really did have some FANTASTIC animation in its first opening theme song. Now if only the actual show had always looked like that. Gosh, I'd LOVE to see something with a consistent level of THAT quality of animation!

I don't mind the BTTS theme, FF wasn't to bad and I actually think the new theme for Conan sounds a lot like it.

The first time I heard Coanan's theme I thought it sounded very similar to TMNT FF's theme. I should specify when it goes teenage mutant ninja turtles, just before fast forward sounds very similar not the entire song but I am always reminded of it when I hear it.

I didn't mind the 2003 theme but its fairly annoying I usually try to fast forward/skip it as well as the FF one.

Keep dreaming. Maybe we'll get a great theme song for this series. But I would love an instrumental this time. Still, I love the second OT theme song. We need a real band to sing their song if possible. Let's get Bon Jovi or Nickelback or something. That would be cool, too.
