I've wondered for a while, what made that day so special. That was the date/time this board had the most visitors at once.
Was there wildly crazy news out that day, or some sort of insanity afoot? Cats & dogs living together, mass hysteria?

Maybe it took people a little over a week to realize Laird sold the TMNT and they finally just converged onto the forums at the same time?

But he sold them in October of that year, right?

Turtles Forever?
EDIT: Nope...that was November.

That is correct! :tsmile:
Not certain if this has anything to do with it, but I checked back on dates in my blog and on August 30th 2009 was when Fan Expo in Toronto Canada showed the preview of "Turtles Forever" and they had a fairly big TMNT panel.
Not certain if that brought people here??

Dang, I kept on focusing on the specific day and I can't even get my months straight. August . . . October . . . well, at least they both have 31 days!
Wait, maybe everybody at Viacom/Nickelodeon was doing research into acquiring the franchise in August, so they ordered all their employees onto the forums to do some market research?:tidea:

That's possible, & could make a great deal of sense, but I think Pete said the deal was being worked on for like, 6 months+ if not longer...

Why would Nick execs come to a place like this?

If they knew what the fans wanted we would have DVDs of seasons 9 and 10 as well as Turtles Forever uncut.

They are likely in negotiations with Lionsgate to purchase the series.

The only way to know would be to ask, and I'm sure even then such buisness matters are hush hush.

Not singling you out since I've seen a couple other people mention this recently, but what will it take to get people to stop it with the same old "negativity" garbage about these forums? The Nick cartoon, the IDW comic news, Turtles Forever, and several other TMNT releases all had an overwhelmingly positive reaction here, and one member's negative reaction was even enough to briefly cause a heated conversation not too long ago, but apparently that's still not good enough... :(

I hear ya Krang, it just seems that lately the "AWESOME!! New Turtle news!" and the "OMG, they're raping my childhood!!" have been about equal, and with everything being shrouded in mystery the negativity in that regard seems unnessicary, IMO of course. :D

I guess I should understand that. My wife refuses to watch the "new" Care Bears because it's "different." Heck, what little of the 4Kids series she said she didn't like because it's "different."
Why am I the eternal optimist? (I guess except when it comes to forum negativity....:P)

I'm all for change. Why do a reboot if you plan to have exactly the same show again?

Sorry, but I'm just not seeing it. At the very least, I'd say 75% of the people here are either positive or neutral about the current direction of the TMNT. This poll backs me up, and that was even before all the recent news that the vast majority seems to like so far. I think the bottom line is that some people put far too much weight on the few negative comments, which blinds them from all the positive ones.

Yes, exactly! I don't think you'll find a community of any kind that is 100% positive about everything. And there are tons of places on the internet where people are far, far more negative about the TMNT than here, yet we're still the only ones that get blamed... :ohwell:

I guess it's the same philosophy as if you get good service you'll tell a few people, but if you get bad service you'll tell everybody.
And to be fair, I may have been too general when I should have been more specific.

Great, so all that time and money I recently spent preparing for a server move without asking anything in return apparently went toward a place that has been forever condemned because someone dared to post something negative here once. Guess I missed out when they passed out those "get out of negativity jail free" cards to all the other TMNT communities on the internet. Lucky me.

I find the negative people countable on one hand. Two if you flip your second thumb to throw me in on occasion (though I've been trying not to be a snot as much, and more of a social guy). Fret not, we appreciate the hell out of this place. Every time I meet a turtle fan I tell them about the forum. Dunno if they join or even lurk, but I do spread the word, Krang.

Ok....I'm going to shut up. I keep trying to make it better, and insert my Foot in my mouth. (Why does it have to be such a large Clan!?)
In all seriousness Krang, we do appriciate the Drome. My "if you have a good experience" analogy was very flawed. I meant the vocal negative minority seems to be heard more loudly than the than the positive....that's all. I don't go around saying, "That Technodrome Forum is full of argumenative, negative jerks." I love the Drome, and even asked a Youtuber (The guy behind the "Old vs. New" TMNT series) if he was a member here, as a "Love to see you there" kinda thing.
Again, sorry you stupid octopus, I'm just not a very skilled speaker...er...typist sometimes. :P
