In some issues of the Mirage comics, I've often seen The Shredder call the Turtles Gaijin. Could someone tell me what it means? Thanks. :)

"Gaijin" means "foreigner." It's often used derogatorily (sp?). Perhaps referring to the Turtles' "freakish" nature.

Actually i think it's because the Turtles themselves are U.S.A. born and not Japanese.
So, Splinter would NOT be a Gaijin.

Gaijin is Japanese, an abbreviated form of "Gaikokujin". "Gaikoku" is foreign, "Jin" is person. So there you have it. :)

According to some folks at the Godzilla Message board that are foriegners in Japan the word isn't always ment to be insulting, but of course Shredder means it to be insulting.
