I think I've heard once or twice that BttS was released in the UK or Australia or somewhere, but it was really bad and had the CW4Kids watermark on the episodes or something. But I could be imagining all that.
Was BttS ever released anywhere?

Yeah I want the S3 and 4 sets too so I can have them all in order and on less disks.

We did indeed receive them in the 'wonderful land of Oz' :tlol:! I actually have them!! :tgrin:
All episodes were released on two volumes, were perfect quality and didn't have the CW4Kids watermark. They went pretty cheaply too $12 each.

Because the companies who release things there aren't chuckle heads. In the Uk I believe they have every 90's Marvel show on DVD, all of The Tick, and a bunch of other stuff that will probably never see the light of day here. I blame Disney sucking for all of the above.
Over seas has gotten screwed on the OT releases but as far as the 2K3 series is concerned they got season sets.

It's payback for all the awesome ebay listings that don't ship outside the US

:tgrumble: we did indeed get screwed on the OT releases. I started picking them up but then realised that there was no way that the entire series would be released, only 9 volumes got released in the end. But I ended up picking up all of the U.S. releases for a bargain online anyways, even the volume 7's with the mini figurines.

REVENGE AT IT'S SWEETEST!!!! CURSES!!!!!!! *shakes fist in an angry fashion furiously in the air
*only 9 volumes got released in the end.
Sorry i should clarify this, these 9 volumes only covered 31 episodes!

is this listed on Amazon?
is this listed on Amazon?
There is no Amazon in Australia. I got mine from here (http://www.ezydvd.com.au/mech/quicksearch.zml?f=title&q=back+to+the+sewer) back whenever.
Note: Prices on this website are Australian dollars, not US or Canadian. However, they do have an option to display prices in other currencies (minus the otherwise included Australian taxes).

Since Nick now owns the entire 2k3 series, I hope they would release season sets. It would be a way for them to make money before the new show starts.

Unless false advertisement is not only rampant but severe as well downunder, then I know that's a load. Oz V1-6 are the exact same ep configuration as the US releases, while v7-9 are the 39 eps from our S4 collection (yeah, excluding the bonus repeat Hokum Hare ep) all piled onto three discs. So, that's way over 31. It's actually 109.

This.
I went and bought every season set for this series and then they just stopped. Despite BttS having a bad art style vs 2K3's first 5 seasons, I still wanted to complete the set. Even Seasons 3 and 4 never came out in a set. I'm left with an incomplete collection. Sadly, I'm losing hope for Season 9 and 10 of the OT on DVD. Another incomplete set. Why do the TMNT get screwed?

Yeah, and it doesn't make it any better. :(
22.97 Australian Dollar = 24.28228 US Dollar
You'd think that Nick will indeed release the 2k3 show on DVD since it did cost them 10 million. Then again most of the 90s nick shows that would sell very well and everyone wants on dvd are not so who knows, maybe Nick just bought 2k3 so 4Kids would no longer be able to air it which wouldn't surprise me. You don't want to have a modern looking TMNT show on another network when yours is airing. I forgot the 10 million wansn't just the 4kids show right? It also included the licensing rights that 4kids had on the franchise for merchandise and whatnot, another reason why Nick bought it all as a whole even with no intention of ever using the 2k3 show.

Your dvd player better have PAL capabilities not just NTSC or else it won't matter that you hacked it to make it region free.

Well, I'll just have to check that when I have a PAL DVD to check it with..

Rocko's Modern Life, Hey Arnold, and a lot more of nickelodeon's 90's shows are hitting DVD this summer from Shout Factory, due to their deal with Nick. so maybe they will put out the 2k3 series.

What sucks is they'll probably start back at season 1 and re-release things that have been on DVD twice already. Unless they have great bonus features...I'm satisfied with seasons 1 and 2.

I don't see why Nickelodeon payed 10 million bucks for ALL of TMNT if they're only going to air Turtles Forever a couple times, release it on DVD, and make their own TV show. Why couldn't they at least let 4Kids keep releasing DVDs and air it on their channel? It makes no sense and seems like a huge waste of money to me.

it would be nice to re-release the toon on dvd, but when? now that is the question........

Hmm... It works a little differently than I thought, so I added the more expensive volume to my basket, checked the price w/o tax, then converted via their suggested site. Less than you came up with, but still over $20. :ohwell: And, that's not even including the international shipping!
But, I'd imagine they've been discontinued since the sale and they're now running low on copies because even eBay.au is selling them for that much.

Yeah, I'll just hold out hope that Nick realizes "Hey, there's Turtle stuff we own that hasn't been put on DVD yet. We could make some quick money if we just throw these 13 episodes on a DVD. We don't even have to do any bonus features."
Who knows.

I'm just trying to think on why you guys would want this on dvd? I think it be a bad move for Nick to release BTTS on dvd, they lose money. If anything release seasons 1-5 that's it.
TheSkeletonMan939
04-10-2011, 05:50 PM
How would they lose money? I know I'd buy it, and other people would buy it just to complete their collections.
But I do think that Nick should release Seasons 1 through 6 first.

I'm guessing they would, it cost money to produce such a thing on DVD. When 4Kids made the season sets 1-2, they stopped making it because sales weren't doing so well. I'm not sure even Fast Forward sales were that great either.
If the main series didn't sell well, why would BTTS? A series that had more hate than any other series. I would not buy BTTS even if it were for $2, that's how much I hated that series. I believe only hard core HARD core fans would buy this, but not many. You have to look at the bigger picture, not just a couple of people that want to buy it.

Speak for yourself, BTTS was never hated. It's just a step down from previous seasons.

^ I have to give it credit for having guts to stray from saki and explore a new main villain. You can only defeat shredder so many times before it becomes a joke similar to the OT when he escapes every time. Kahn was a brave idea. Whether you like him or not is up to you. Personally I didn't much care for him but I was glad chrell wasn't the turtles' main focus

well maybe i'll look at eBay.au for them then. but then to find a region-free dvd player...hmmm...
