i just recently got into the 2003 show and so far have been only to get season 1 part 1 dvd and part 2 disc of season 2 part 1. are the single disc releases where the spines for the images of the turtles when lined up, in order as they premiered. or are they just random episodes? also was season 4 fully released on dvd?

It's complicated. At first, Funimation, the company releasing the DVDs, released Season 1 in order as they premiered. Then they began releasing their Season 2 DVDs with the episode orders all screwed up, and then they started mashing Seasons 3 and 4 together with the order screwed up even more.
To see what I mean, go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_(2003)_DVD_releases
Season 4 was released on DVD, but the first few episodes were mashed into the Season 3 collections as I said. There is no box set of Season 3 eps, but there is a box set of most of the Season 4 episodes.

Leo, Raph, Mikey, and half of Donnie are pretty much in order. Once they hit season 3...it gets bad. Season 4 was released in its entirety, but it's mixed pretty well with season 3 on those DVDs.

Actually...only 1/2 of season 4 is in the "Season 4" box set. It's basically the "Season 4 Volume 2". Seasons 3 and 4 were released in box sets...in Australia, as was Back to the Sewers. Not sure if it's worth trying to import them or track down a region free DVD player.

Oh and what a mess it is...
Don't forget that on most of the Volume 5 DVDs, Funimation mistakenly printed the Raphael image from Volume 6 by mistake.
Yeah, quality control must have been a novel concept for those anime-pimpin' money-grubbers.

Indeed. I'm not sure how I got the "right" spine. :P

Thanks TheSkeletonMan939 and Jester for the info. A local store called Moviestop has a bunch of the single discs for cheap so ill have to pick some up. The 2003 show is pretty addicting.

I just finished watching both series...(well, I'm working on Fast Forward) and It was fun trying to watch them in any semblance of order. I did a decent job with out a list...but man was it crazy.

most>1/2
14/26>1/2
14/26=most
Just sayin'...

Great idea! Some of those single discs have unique bonus content like the Totally Made-Up News Team updates and the Peter Laird interviews.

Thats pretty sweet that they have interviews. I wish the 87 series dvd releases had a bit more interviews than what they included. that and better packaging art.

Ah yes, but Funimation being the quality control incompetents they were back in the early 00s forgot to include Parts 5-6 of the Laird interviews and then proceeded to include Parts 7 & 8 on the next two releases. Brilliance...
I think they even advertised the fact that Volumes 5 & 6 included Laird interviews too.

I disagree...but I don't have them on hand to prove either of us wrong....:P

Hmm... you may be right since it wasn't listed on the official site, but I'd need to go back and look at the back of the cases:

At least they came with a demo for the PC game, which I thought was pretty cool for the time.

It wasn't listed on the packaging, but if you heard that in a commercial, perhaps.

The one "bonus feature" that was a total joke was the "How to play the TMNT Card Game from Upper Deck." Oye...though I guess I could dust off my cards and give it a shot....:P

Are the Bonus Features on the three-episode discs on the big box set collections?

No, the only set they're in is the first season 1 set which the first 4 volumes of season 1 they released on DVD in a box. Basically the Leo spined disks.

I think i remember seeing both Fast Forward DVDs on Amazon being less than $5 brand new way back then. Now the prices are back up higher...i should have gotten it while it was cheap.

I always tend to buy new...maybe I should give in and get the used? I want to wait for Vol 2 to get cheaper and I can buy it together.
