i'm doing my term paper on government monitoring/the loss of american privacy and i was hoping that someone on here could please help me. i need to do an interview with someone that's knowledgable on the topic. i need these questions answered:

1.) Give me a little background on your experience and
knowledge on the topic.

2.) What cases do you know of where someone has been
under government monitor? (I've been having a lot of
trouble with this one. I would prefer something not
concering Arabs thought of as terrorists)

3.) What are the main reasons for doing it? (Besides
the obvious suspect of criminal activity)

4.) Is the Patriot Act still in effect? (It seems as
if it's been forgotten about ever since 9/11)

...OR ANYTHING ELSE YOU KNOW ABOUT IT.

if you know anyone i could e-mail and get a response to quickly, that would help too.

thanks anyone.

You might be better off using AL Capone as your research project :P He was constantly monitored.

Or you could do a reversal and use J edgar hoover and who he was responsible for tapping and surveyling.

I doubt you'll find much solid information that is recent.

i've found a lot of cases recently about suspected terrorists.

but i only need a few quotes from someone to count as the interview part of my term paper, so not that much info/knowledge is required.

Well yes, there has been plenty of affirmitive action for arabs in the U.S since 9/11....many protests have been stopped and people had to go to jail...I think one of the homeland defences thing was to search houses at will, not sure though...

And no, I don't do homework for others, let alone do my own.

actually, i know a bit about this, though i haven't personally had a problem
i blame it almost totally on James Angleton, former head of the CIA. the theory basically goes that our government can never trust us, because it can never be sure of what we're truly capable of.

No, it is because this country is so goddam weak...one terrorist attack and everyone is gets so frenetic when other countries deal with 9/11 type situations every day... living we will probly have this stupid way of homeland security. If I want security then make more planes to patrol, just don't set your goddam dirty feet in my house...
