The Shredder/Oroku Saki as a Tengu or an Utrom

Which revamp of the Shredders you prefer, to me Ch'rell was the better revamped Shredder despites being an alien. He still was a ninja master and used the human identity of Oroku Saki.

Although I thought the Tengu Shredder was a bit creepy, I did vote for Utrom Shredder. Why? Because he was sadistic and killed thousands of people. He also used different aliases as his identity. Yes, Tengu Shredder killed people, but he was possessed by a demon, so that was his motivation. Ch'rell wasn't possessed at all and had true motives for his evil.

Ch'rell is the more interesting of the two Shredders, He was an alien warlord who has an identity crisis. He took Karai and Hun under his wing and he was the Shredder that was conneted to the turtles's origin.

Out of the Shredder's we had on this show I would have to go with Ch'rell too. He was the better writen of all of them. I like the aspect that even though he was an Utrom, he really tried to fit in and almost was more human then some of the human characters.

Ch'rell was the more interesting villain. Tengu Shredder was just a demon but all that power was boring. Without the aid of the Ninja Tribunal and learning all of those mystical abilities, the Turtles would have had no means of bring down the demon. Thus, it was a magic on magic battle, which I didn't really enjoying. Ch'rell may of been an alien bug in metal exo-suit but what he did in that exo-suit was awesome. He became a extremely skilled ninja warrior, besting the Turtles and Splinter in numerous fights. That's what I loved about fights with him. He was a physical fighter who didn't rely on tricks or magic to try to destroy his enemies. (With the exception of the Sword of Tengu he used.) What made Ch'rell really interesting that is that after Season 2, he moved away from only wanting to destroy the Turtles to using the alien invasion to get off Earth to destroy his true enemies, the Utroms. It's only after he is defeated and returns to Earth when he finally faces the Turtles again, only to be defeated once and for all.

I know Ch'rell stole their names and identities. My point is that Ch'rell is the only one who's actually worthy of the name of The Shredder. He made it HIS name, and now it IS his name. The Tengu Shredder has had his chance, but he was defeated very easily. Ch'rell always came back. ALWAYS.
He would even come back after Turtles Forever, as the creators wanted to make a season called 'The Shredder Wars', where all three Shredders would fight it out. (This was the future seen in Tempus Fugit).
Ch'rell IS The One, True Shredder and no-one else. No Tengu, no Demon-human, no Shredder from another dimension.
He's not the original Shredder, but he definitely is the One True Shredder.
And @Xav, Karai was his daughter and kept the name hers until his return.

The whole concept of the Shredder being an utrom made aboslutely no sense at all. I'm only ok with it because they rarely showed him in his utrom form, and cause he acted more like a human than an alien (which is one of the reasons that it didn't make any sense).

It didn't make sense that an utrom would disguise himself as a human to blend into Earth society? Ch'rell was not the only utrom who crash landed. He was only one of many. That story from secret origins made sense to me. And the reason he probably acted so human was because he needed to to survive. Ch'rell spent hundreds of years acting human. It makes sense that he would take on human mannerisms after so long.

Where does one begin. An entire season is spent in which the Shredder focuses all of his efforts towards defeating the turtles, who at the time just want to be left alone. Meanwhile, there's a race of utroms and guardians hunting him down. So rather than making efforts towards destroying mortu and the utroms, he spends his time obsessed with destorying the turtles? Oh yeah, I forgot. He didn't attack the utroms because he "couldn't find them." Yeah, ironically enough April O'Neil doesn't seem to have any trouble doing an internet search for Mr. Mortu and find out all kinds of things about him.

He sees Leonardo cut off the Shredder's head, and then two episodes later he's surprised to see the Shredder is alive when the turtles set up the trap for him at Shredder's sky scraper. I would think that knowing that the shredder is an utrom is something that the utrom's head guardian might want to know.

Did I mention that the utrom Shredder enjoys drinking tea through his exosuit? Oh yeah, and the world doesn't seem to notice that world famous billionaire Oroku Saki doesn't seem to age despite being a thousand years old. No, there aren't any contradictions to Shredder being an utrom. Whatever was I thinking.

Saki attempted to ally himself with the turtles in order to use them to destroy Mortu. When the turtles declined and marked Saki their enemy, Saki had to try to destroy them.

It wouldn't be the first time a leader neglected to share everything with those that serve them. Even Splinter kept several secrets from the turtles and they were family. The turtles dynamic with Splinter, though not exactly the same, is similar with the relationship between the guardians and the utroms. The guardians fight ch'rell for the utroms, the turtles fight ch'rell for Splinter
Did I mention that the utrom Shredder enjoys drinking tea through his exosuit?
Try to remember this an advanced alien race with ridiculous technology. And if an exosuit capable of ingestion is your main concern, you may have missed the point here. The entire show is based on four walking talking turtles. The exosuit that can take in tea is not as far fetched as several other facets of the series...

I think you mean contradictions but this does seem legit, I admit. I always wondered that myself but Max Winters endured similar circumstances in TMNT. Not sure how one might achieve it but I would assume he changes his appearance and moves to new locations over the years.
