As I drink my wondrous black tea, I realize that without a cup of fine tea at least once a day, I feel a bit off.

This is the tea appreciation thread. :D Hot, cold, black, green, chai, however you take it.

Does anybody else enjoy this soothing drink? I must say that drinking tea helps me get my mind off of things that might have been troubling me.

Yes. I have about 3 cups of tea everyday. Im part British so maybe that has something to do with it.

I like tea.....being from Alabama I prefer mine sweet and iced.

During the winter I drink green tea and ginger tea. But around here it's waaaaaaay too hot to apperciate a warm beverage during summer.

((Y'all give to the Red Cross if you can......the tornados pretty well destroyed my state. My parents have been out of power since Wednesday and probably won't have power again until sometime next week))

Last year I gave up coffee after nearly 10 years and made the switch to tea. I don't drink it daily, but it is several times a week. I like many kinds, but Earl Grey and other black teas are my favorite.

Normally, I don't drink a lot of tea, but I have tried Snapple tea and find it to be very good. Mom and I have both tried the Papaya Mango tea from The Amazing Race episode, and it's very good. It makes me want to try more Snapple flavors.

The only tea I drink is Earl Grey. It's fanfriggintastic. Hot, of course. Maybe a 'lil honey sometimes.

When I drank tea this was it. I made London Fogs though. Little milk and 2 sugars, easy to make and damn good. Stopped drinking that stuff though. I gave up caffeine all together.

How many people put a bit of milk in their hot tea? I can;t drink it without milk. My wife makes fun of me because I do. She says it isn't ''manly''. Lol.

Milk in Tea was a bland and disappointing experience... I thought it was gonna taste horrible or open a new world...

Living in the UK. I haven't had much Tea, really.
Red Strawberry tea is nice.

I enjoy Earl Grey and green teas. The thought of adding milk or sugar to them kinda disgusts me.

Really? Man, all my family in the UK does it. I thought it was a pretty normal thing. In the states I guess not.

I put coffee creamer in mine sometimes.

See, I just can't do creamer. I put a splash of milk in both my coffee and my tea but when I put creamer it just doesn't taste right.

Really got into tea after my trip to England... Earl grey with sugar, sometimes with milk. Same with Chai. Other times, I like some green tea. I Would at some point like to try Matcha tea.. I've watched tea ceremonies on youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7tt7NBIVeMY), and it's a neat thing to observe.

In terms of 'odd' teas, we've got mint and wintergreen that grows in our yard, and I like to make tea with those. The wintergreen makes a very nice Iced tea, and the leaves can be used over Several times... I'd like to try stinging nettle tea - I made soup with it this evening, but I'd like to try it in a non-savory state..

From what I've gathered, it is very much a British thing to add milk and sugar.

I am going to talk more about tea, because I like tea.

If I am making my chai tea I use cardamom, ginger, cinnamon sticks, cloves, ground it all down, put it into my tea strainer. I use a package of Earl Gray black tea. Vanilla and milk : x I don't use water for my Chai, I like it creamy.

I drink lemon tea and Green tea all the time. Chai I drink as my treat I only allow myself to have once a week (or less) do to all the sugars it has. I don't use any sweeteners in any other tea. I love green tea the most, do to the fact of how delicious it is, even without any added sweeteners. Kind of started a green tea drinking habit do to Chinese restaurants. My lemon tea is just Lemon peel and water, with juice; because like tea, I love juice.

A current runner-up for favorite is a matcha I get from time to time at Tully's. I'm quite certain it's nowhere near the same as the real deal (and without the rad ceremony to boot), but it's suiting for when I'm on the way to the office.

EDIT: Clicked your Youtube link and that's actually the first ceremony I watched online a while back :) Thanks for reminding me of it.

My family in the UK and the ones here who were born in the UK all drink milk in their tea too. My older sister and I are the exceptions to that.

I enjoy Chai tea, especially as a latte, but I also enjoy Earl Grey and Jasmine. I'm not a fan of straight-up green tea, though I do enjoy it in a blend. Tea is my comfort drink after a stressful day and nothing makes me feel better when I'm sick like a plan black tea with honey and lemon. :)

It may not be popular amongst tea ''elites'', but I do enjoy me a tall can of that. Yes sir.:D

Love tea, but usually only drink jasmine green tea, without the milk or sugar but I don't think it normally is drunk with that.

I think the only tea drunk with milk and sugar over here is your run of the mill, unflavoured tea. When you get into your herbals and flavoured teas, nothing else needed!

I normally drink plain old Tetley tea. Wee dash of milk, no sugar. I've also got a packet of Twinings peppermint tea kicking around, only got a coupla bags left though...

Glad to see all of this love of tea!

Samhain, you're not alone, man. I love milk and honey in my tea, and I'm in the States. I only like creamer with coffee. I think tea sans milk and honey is good too, but I'd rather have it with.

I'd say my favorite tea is black, green, chai is nice, and I do have some other herbal blends. Machias, your teas sound delightful!

I love doing the wintergreen tea during the summer - it creates a wonderful cooling sensation when you inhale... :) You can make tea with birch bark and (in survival situations) Pine needles, but I've never been brave enough. :goof: Now, someone on here mentioned cookies... A while back, I found a nice recipe for Earl Grey Shortbread cookies. You could probably switch out the Earl Grey with any other teas that you like... They were very delicate.

My granda used to make us fish and chips when we were younger, and serve it with tea. Bit strange, but it sure goes well!

I love me some fish and chips, but not with tea! lol

Speaking of that reminded me of my Grandma. She was born in Engand, moved to the states when she was 35. This woman will have hot tea with EVERYTHING. We go to Mcdonalds, BK, doesn't matter. She's gotta have her tea. lol:lol:

I'm a southerner, so I enjoy a glass of southern style sweet iced tea. When i brew it at home, at times I pour a mug of the still warm sweet tea. I can drink tea at almost any temp, actually.

I adore tea. It's pretty much all I drink. My personal favorites are green tea, jasmine tea, earl grey tea, English breakfast tea and chamomile.

I like every kind of tea straight, nothing in it to mess with the flavor and I love both hot and cold tea, but nothing sweetened personally as the sugar tastes gross to me!

 That was hilarious! I'm not even familiar with Star Trek and that still made me laugh.

Reading this thread definitely has that "now I'm hungry" affect on a person. I'm thinking of homemade butter bread now...thanks, Samhain! :P

I had green tea with honey before. Mmm.

Does anybody associate tea with TMNT? I do sometimes, especially green, just because Splinter always enjoyed his tea (and so did the Turtles in the comics, if I'm not mistaken.) But mainly tea just makes me think of...tea. Glorious tea.

Now that you ask, I hear Splinter offering April "some hot tea"...:D

I love Captain Picard.. Now we just need a Splinter 'Hot tea' remix...

Ooh, I just got my order in from Portsmouth Tea Company (http://teasyteas.com/) today. I ordered a few samples to try, and ended up getting a bunch of extra freebies to try out.. I ended up with three kinds of chai, two kinds of almond tea, two kinds of peach tea, scottish breakfast, 'femininitea', 'sleep' and New England Blueberry Muffin tea... I can't wait to try the Earl Grey La Creme.

They had a small shop in somersworth - they sold all their teas in the nicest black tins... you could walk in and spend an hour easily just smelling the different teas. :tlove:

I come from a family of southern iced sweet tea drinkers myself.

You know how people have to have coffee to get their day started? well with my family it's iced tea.

I myself LOVE most all tea! When I'm sick I have my tea hot with honey and a splash of milk. Any other time I like it iced with or without sugar depending on my mood. I like the Arizona tea as well (raspberry, peach, lemon, green, southern style, and the occasional Arnold Palmer!)..and it's the only store bought tea I will drink. I just don't like Brisk or Nestea it taste....fake.
