Goku as Mikey: Not seeing it. I still want Mikey to say words like “dude” and have that teenage attitude, except without a complete surfer boy accent. I know Goku doesn’t sound like this, but I really want the character to have a voice like the one from the original 1990 film.

I happen to think Cam Clarke could do a good Mikey though. Thinking about it makes my OCD brain giddy cuz, then, we'd have NickToon Don and Mike performed by OT Raph and Leo. :D

In regards to Sean Schemmel, it isn't even possible for him to voice Mikey in the new show.

The voice acting for the NickToons series is being done in LA using Union voice actors. Sean Schemmel operates out of New York working exclusively on Non-Union productions.

Union productions can't hire Non-Union voice actors and vice versa.

As for whether Schemmel would be good as Mikey? Eh, I don't really like him much outside of the DBZ Kai dub (and only the Kai dub; his previous two dubs of DBZ were just awful, awful performances). I don't think he'd be a very good fit for Mikey.

Well, if anybody ever wants to know what Cam Clarke's take on Michelangelo might sound like, check out the Real Ghostbusters episode "Mean Green Teen Machines".

It was a parody of the TMNT cartoon (obviously) and Clarke voices the lead Green Teen, doing a Michelangelo-style surfer voice.

Since Clarke was originally cast in the Fred Wolf cartoon to voice Mikey, the Ghostbusters episode was a cool insight into what he might have sounded like had Susan Blu not chosen to switch him and Townsend Coleman's roles around at the last minute.

Logical fallacy: many TMNT voice actors are "anime" actors. Most 2K3 actors are better known for their anime roles than anything else, and even the likes of Rist and Clarke have taken on English dubbed roles that they are well known for.

Uh, I think SAG productions can use non-union actors, at least that's what I've heard on Charles Band's DVD set "Cinemaker".
