View Full Version : What happened to the old Turtles in the FF timeline?

As we know the present day Turtles travel 100 years into the future. But where were the Turtles of that normal timeline? Did they die from old age?
In the Mirage comics and Archie series, the Turtles live for way over 100 years old.
Yet in the 4kids series, we're more or less led to believe they all died before 100 years in the future. Would it have been better if the Turtles met their future "older" selves 100 years in the future?

I'm definitely glad it was left open-ended. They're probably dead, but maybe Raph's livining alone in a swamp, missing an eye. Maybe Mike's out in parts unknown of deep space. Maybe Leo's living by himself in a tree-hut.
Either way, life at best is bittersweet.

Let's ask Doc and Marty how well the complexities of time travel have worked for them...

Well, if they were still alive, that would mean that they were at least 114 years old. So I would think that they've probably all been dead for 30-40 years or so.

Wow are you serious? How did they live that long in the comic books? That don't make sense.

Leo and Don definitely live past 100, the other two are anybody's guess.

That's interesting... I think they should recton that but that's my opinion. I just don't see how they could live that long, but then again i don't know much about Turtles. :trazz:

I mean... it happens in the future so there's really no point in retconning anything that far ahead in the timeline. Unless you're saying one (or all) of the Turtles should die in battle at a younger age.
But again, moot point. The Mirage continuity is dead.

I always thought they were dead in 2105 after watching the old toon episode Once Upon A Time Machine. They were aging big time in that episode and it was only 2036 so I figured the 4kids turtles would be dead in 2105.

I think we can safely assume that either they were killed in some ninja battle or are just hiding. Or maybe it's a plot hole. Eh, whatever.

Splinter was a rat and he lived to be about 46
- The average lifespan of a rat is 2-3 years. So he is most likely around that age when exposed to the transmat waste. 15 years pass and we find ourselves at volume 1. Let's say now he is 17.
- About 30 years pass and we find ourselves in volume 4. Now splinter should be around 47 when he dies. So the mutagen increased Splinter's life exponentially.
- The average lifespan of a red eared slider can be around 20 years. The mutagen multiplied Splinter's life span 23.5 times what his species should live. So if a slider can live to be 20, multiply that by 23.5 and the turtles could theoretically live to be approximately 470. Of course this is all assuming the transmat biproduct has the same effect on the turtles as Splinter.
The turtles could live for a long long time.

To answer this question, I think they are all still alive but they simply do not want to interfere with their past selves. Apparently they got it right the first time and do not want to risk messing up the nice timeline they have going... a la back to the future part III

Yes, but if the Turtles survived to the >> universe...why wasn't Donnie more active in the operations of O'Neil Tech. And why didn't bishop tap the still living Mutant Ninja Turtles eariler? Heck, if they lived to be 400+ years, they could be teenagers several times over.

No, they are probably dead. I was merely commenting on k_lala's post about how he/she didn't think the turtles could live that long and so it should be retconed

Ok...just thought I'd add it into the discussion is all.

I totally just contradicted myself. First I said I thought they were alive, then I said I thought they were dead. Doi :ohwell:
I suppose I don't know what I think... feels strange not to have an opinion

I once wrote a fan fiction where Cody takes the TMNT to the Jones farm in Northampton and they find out Donatello is still alive in the future. I like to think he would've outlasted the others by atleast a couple decades.

Do we know if the Turtles came back to their time in that future time line FF is set in?
There is the episode with that book, but that was all a prank on the turtles.

I assumed that maybe they died since Cody was so happy to see them. If they were still alive in that continuity, Cody would've been really confused when he saw them and made some comment about it.

Volume 4 is unfinished and we have Andrew's comics, so it's not dead yet.

Yea but Andrew's Image issues aren't official products like all the others.
