Hey Gang,
So I just finished reading I, Superhero!! We wear Tights So You Don't Have To (http://www.amazon.com/Superhero-Wear-Tights-Wont-Have/dp/080653138X/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1308022745&sr=1-1) by the writer, Mike McMullen.
It's all about the "real-life superhero" movement. Like Kick-Ass, only real. The book is a nonfiction account of people who dress-up in costumes, work to raise awareness about causes they care about, and *cough* fight crime.
It is, without a doubt, the most fun book I have read in a VERY long time. I absolutely loved it.
At one point, Mr. McMullen is interviewing "Master Legend," a real-life superhero you may have seen featured on the Watchmen DVD special-features, or in Rolling Stone magazine.
At one point, Master Legend talks about his early training, and how he became a real-life superhero. And, well... I'm pretty sure we all know where he got the idea for at least one part of his "legend:"
"As a superhero, and at work, or, you know, when I made it into the Purple Dragons, I had to swim through these three different canals I had to jump water towers, and uh, you know, not many people will jump from one water tower to another, or will they swim through a snake pit, nor will they swim through an airplane landing strip, but I did."
Swim through a landing strip?
"What's the Purple Dragons?" I ask.
"Yeah."
"What are they?"
"Ninja biker ninja kung fu martial artists biker group."
That could be the single coolest description of a group I've ever read. Throw in "zombie" or "Amazon," and it's perfect.
Anyway, yeah. The Purple Dragons.
Ninja biker ninja kung fu martial artists biker group :D.
