Hey all! I know some of you make your own custom action figs, so I was wondering... What's the best kind of paint to use on figs? I've been wanting to repaint some of my older TMNT action figs, but I've got no clue as to what kind of paint I should use. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :)

Azure,

I use Testors brand paints. I use both Acrylics and Enamels. I prefer to paint with brushes rather than the sprays, but they're both great.

I've been customizing a lot of 12" Soldiers recently. Painting your own camoflauged faces and accessories is so much fun. :D I'll post some of my newest TMNT customs soon.

If you plan to use Glittery Enamels here's a tip, put on a coat of grey or primer first, then the glittery paint.

These paints work so well I really don't need to coat them with anything. If you'd prefer a finish, Testors also has clear coats in Glossy and Flat finishes.

Total coolness! Thanks for the tips, TMNTGal! Now maybe I can get my old figs to look new... And maybe do a custom turtle fig. :anime:

I tried painting some weapons with model Railroad paint once. It partially melted the plastic when I brushed it on. :(

I'd suggest using an acrylic based model paint from Tamiya or similiar brand. These can be found easily at all model and hobby shops...and they aren't expensive.

I never use solvent/enamel/oil based type paints for painting action figures.....because some of these paints will not dry properly on some forms of plastic...and will leave the plastic sticky with undried paint.
