Yeah, and I thought the 1990s strict Christians harping on the Turtles was weird.
Take a look at these!

Description: "The idea of the Twin Towers being destroyed was programmed before the event so that we would psychologically stand down and simply say "It's just like a movie" and accept 9/11 as a part of our new reality."

There are more examples on their account of TMNT being horrible and 9/11 related and whatnot. I'm not going to post all of them here. It doesn't take our knowledge of these clips within their proper context or our knowledge of the writers and the writing process for the show to know how much bull this all is, but I'm still wondering: any thoughts?

My thoughts:
That guy is wrong in the f**king head. But now he's got us talking about him, so I guess his paranoia ain't all wrong :P
The Twin Towers were what, amongst the tallest buildings in the world, and seeing as TMNT was set in New York, naturally the writers are going to visit there as part of a plot. I wonder if he's got a rant on how the 70's King Kong remake is also part of this same "Get em used to it before it happens" conspiracy.

I'll quote the comment I posted on one of the video's:
Ridiculous.
Accepting 911?
Do you even know what you're talking about?
Do you know how many people were hurt, even still are today, because of this?
Even people that weren't there or didn't lose anyone.
This is not a prediction. The World Trade Center was a big, important building with a lot of power.
Ofcourse a bad guy is gonna threaten it.
I write stories myself and if my stories woud take place in New York, I'd do the exact same thing. Bad guy on the Twin Towers.
It's VERY logical.
What happened there was horrible.
A LOT of conspiracies on this whole subject are really freaking crazy, just like the people who think of them. They're paranoid, and a lot of people with their kinda idea's actually have mental issues and are being treated for that.
I suggest you read this article: http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/military/news/debunking-911-myths-world-trade-center
There are some other articles on that site, also discussing the 9/11 issue.
Skepdic.com is a very good site that literally CRUSHES a lot of conspiracy theories with actual proof, so unlike these idiotic video's or the pathetic "facts" conspiracy-theorists make people believe in.
I've been in that world, I've been a conspiracy-theorist mysef. I believed everything people told me about the whole thing and the secret governments that control the world and it scared me.
That's what these conspiracies do. They make you scared.
Nowadays I just think logically and I realise how ridiculous everything sounds.
You know what conspiracy theorists will think of the article I mentioned?
It's fake. Made up. Published by the government to cover everything up even more, to make people think the conspiracies actually are false.
I highly recommend people who believe this visit 'Skepdic.com'

This is all a load of bullsh*t. 9/11 wasn't predicted. No one saw it coming. It just happened, and it was a sad day for everyone. A cartoon isn't going to predict anything.

I think these sort of videos are in bad taste. Nothing against having a thread for them, but that youtube user has all sorts of wacko stuff like this on his account.
It shocks me how some people just trivialize the deaths of so many people on that tragic day.

I'm surprised it's lasted as long as it has.
My wife is always in shock when I watch an episode on dvd that featured that towers. I think she thought that maybe they'd edit the episodes or something before they were released on dvd. I doubt that the creators even remembered that the towers were featured in episodes. I mean they created like a couple hundred episodes.

I'm glad that, for whatever reason, they weren't edited out. When editing the towers out of stuff like the old TMNT (as opposed to something like the first Spider-Man movie) it feels similar to pretending that the WTC never existed in the first place.

Agreed. Just because something bad happened doesn't mean we should whitewash history of its legacy.

Quoted for wisdom. 'Book burning', anyone?

Oh, come on guys. Don't you see? The great David Wise knew 9/11 would happen and wrote Turtle episodes as a way of getting his premonitions out to the world!![/sarcasm]
Wah, what a complete dipstick.

Exactly. It's unfortunate when somehow people hold on to this idea of "sensitivity" where, say, the WTC should be edited out of all previous art and so on. To me, editing that out is what's disrespectful, not the act of keeping it in and leaving something untouched. It's like, "Let's not honor those who have died during this tragic event, but instead try to push the memory aside." Huh?
Anyway, as to the dude's vids, there are some total kooks out there... But hey, y'gotta admit, they provide some entertainment. :) When they're not physically harming others, that is.
I really don't understand these kinds of vids, though. Where the uploader just uploads something and then does a small (sometimes large) commentary on it in the description. Can't be arsed enough to talk about it in a video? What a waste.

It's not the very little commentary that bugs me. The big thing that gets on my nerves is the lack-of-context and misinformation within the commentary that does exist.

WTF???? :tgrumble::tgrumble:....I dont know how you say in colloquial English something like in Spanish: "I am hallucinating with this guy!" :teek::teek::teek:
Its hard to believe that guy talks... seriously?! :tconfuse::tconfuse: :tmad:
I cant find an online traduction for my thoughts about this!!! :tgrumble:
For example last one: A soft Ultra-light airplane in a few seconds of a cartoon !!! Is he actually try to compare with 9/11 ... ...?? Ridiculous! Im agree also with Jester!!!

Weren't there shots of Superman flying by the WTC in the Christopher Reeve's Superman movies? Guess they were trying to prepare us for 9/11 way back then. :trolleye:
You know in the second TMNT comic Baxter threatens to destroy one of the WTC towers.
