View Full Version : Was Carter a Keno analogue for the FW series?

Watching TMNT season 9 ATM and when the Turtles go to to battle the new and not-so-improved Rex clones, Carter wants to tag along, but the Turtles decry his lack of experience, to which Carter wonders how he'll gain any by sitting on the sidelines. Then Splinter explains that when the time is right, he'll know. When I saw this play out, I couldn't help but think of this line Splinter says to Keno in TMNT 2: "You have youth, I have experience (where did Splinter get his experience...sure he watched Yoshi, but when did he put it to use? Sorry...)but only those who now fight have both."

So, was Carter a "stand-in" for Keno in the last 2 seasons?

I felt like Carter was more a stand-in for Casey, actually.

To me the age thing makes me think of Keno over Casey. That and Casey appeared in the series at other times.

I could also never figure out Carter's race. Was he black or hispanic?

I would say "Ask David Wise," but I don't know if he actually created the character or was just under orders to use him in every episode.

There only 5 episodes I know of where Casey was used:

The first Episode he appeared in
Corporate Raider from Deminsion X
The one where he and one of the guys are fighting some Arnold wanna be
Night of the Rogues
Cyber Turtles

Then we get Carter.I also though the Jet character was lame as well. They should have used Casey for then they did.

Was Jet Carter's blonde haired Robbie Rist voiced rival?

Ole Jet McCabe. I agree, not the greatest character, but he's only in 1 episode.

Did Robbie Rist really voice Jet?

Anywho, thinking about it, I can see the whole "Keno" thing too.

I have to agree. I too have always thought that Carter filled the role of Keno for the final two seasons.

Yep, and Brian "Leonardo" Tochi was the voice of Yoku in White Belt, Black Heart.

(where did Splinter get his experience...sure he watched Yoshi, but when did he put it to use? Sorry...)

That's something that I would love to see explored in any TMNT medium!

I never thought about this. Hm, I guess he fought off some other rats in the sewers before his mutation or karate chopped some wandering roaches.:PYep, and Brian "Leonardo" Tochi was the voice of Yoku in White Belt, Black Heart. That's pretty cool. Too bad Jet wasn't a more developed and interesting character. I also need to go back and watch White Belt, Black Heart. That was a pretty good episode.
