 What's wrong with it?Is it that bad? :P
I know it doesnt resemble good ol hokum all that much (mainly because i hated the dork face he had in the toon and redesigned it) but... :embarass:
*edit* Ok, here is h0kum h4r3 if y4 dont remember 1t!

There, now everyone can see who i'm talking about...he appeared in one or two episodes of the old tmnt toon, i think he's the easter bunny.

 No, its well drawn!!
But it was weird!! I didn't recognize it as Hokum at all!
It looks kind of freaky, like he is standing in the middle of the dessert on some alien planet near a spider web with some kind of death ray..... :blanksta:

 Yeah, he's supposed to be at the lair, standing in front of donnie's time portal, but i didnt remembered how it was and drew it anyways without reference...and it came out like that :dead: as you can see backgrounds arent my strong point, thats why i never draw em, but i wanted to do one this time.
And i agree it doesnt look like hokum...i might do him again with his cartoon face but i hate it :ohwell:

 Ohhhhh... I see it!!

He looks kind of cool with that face, you ought to try drawing Usagi Yojimbo like that!!

Dude... I remember that Hokum guy! Err... bunny! That's a very cool drawing, Nicko. I like your version of him better than the cartoon version.

I like your Usagi sketch too. I don't see anything wrong with his clothes, though his neck seems kinda long. :ohwell:

Thanks :D I know what you mean with usagi's neck being too long, i do that all the time in a lot of my drawings :dead: but unintentionally, i'll try fixing them on my next drawings.
As for the clothing...well it doesnt really look natural since it needs cloth folds and stuff.

The ears kinda suck, but it's good. I don't even know who Hokum is.

Yeah i know :embarass: well, any tips?recommendations on how should i draw em?Because while i appreciate your comments they're not of much help and kinda suck :p
Seriously tho i appreaciate negative and positive comments but if they're not of use to me i'd rather not have em :D
btw this is hokum hare

I could try drawing the ears like that, i dunno...i dont think they'll turn out very well.

Fixx0r teh rabbot -_-
http://www.angelfire.com/linux/sitehpwnage/f1xx0rzTEHJAZZJACKRABBIT.jpg
I tried to fixx0r his ear like my good old friend SHADOWKRAPSTER TOLD ME:
<Shadowkaster> nuttin
> nothing? ._.
<Shadowkaster> Oh I can see one thing
> you sure? :I
> oh lol what is it
<Shadowkaster> The ear on the right should be on the other side of his head
<Shadowkaster> his left
> um..
<Shadowkaster> because the way it is now looks like the ear is coming out of the forhead
So i fixx0rz and now it roxx0rz...bleh..in fact i think i screwed up the drawing now!
:| damn criticism :( DEMOCRACY DOESNT WORK

so, ya want constructive criticism, eh? heh heh heh...
i've never heard of the hokum guy either, but i really like the drawing, as well as the one of usagi. I think you do the face/head really well. it's got a quality of realism that a lot of tmnt art lacks. i really like the style. me, i've never been able to draw rabbits, so hats off to you. you should be giving me tips. the only thing you really need to work on is studying human anatomy for proportions and musculature. i like how you shade. i think you should put more time and care into the shading part, because it really gives the pictures depth and makes the shapes pop out. as for backgrounds... well, in a lot of instances you probably don't even need one, but in the case of the hokum pic, maybe scattering a few objects in the background to identify the place would help. sometimes even just one object can give a place an identity. so, i hope that helps. i'm taking an art class where we do this, like, every day. i like your art style. keep going!

Ah, at last some useful stuff, thanks :P
I never ever thought about drawing a realistic hokum/usagi untill i got a very complicated art class that consisted in playing bloody roar untill i thought "hey, i wonder how usagi would look like with that guy's head instead of his :teek: "
I'm not a huge fan of realistic art but i liked the result of this so as you can see i did it a bunch of times :p
I also love shading, problem is most pictures come to a point where i think "what else should i shade?" and i gotta leave it like that for fear of screwing up the pic (yes, it happened to me before =/ ).
Human anatomy is what i'm interested in learning the most, it'll be very useful, i've already improved in that aspect comparing my new art to the old one, but i still have a long way to go...but yeah, anatomy is definitely not one of the things i'll let go unnoticed.
I also tried practicing proportion but that is something i could only do it while the character was standing and that made it look really 2d-ish, and i'd rather have the improperly-proportioned one as it looks a lot better...i might try practicing proportion my way (trying to guess, taking real life references and such) but dont expect much perfection there as proportion is not my strong point.
I agree with the background comment, and avoid BGs most of the time but i thought in this case it'd be a nice touch, i just didnt dare the wall because i'd probably screw it up and making it look too 2-dimensional ( like i did before, look: http://www.angelfire.com/linux/sitehpwnage/MondoTail.jpg ) and thus this was the result
BTW im glad you liked my art, it's a mondo compliment coming from j00 because i really dig yer art too :D I don't think i'm at the level of giving anyone's tips tho (not that it means i dont do it...i do all the time
 J00 C4NT ESCAPE NICKOKAPO'S CRITISCISM GUYZ!MWEHEHEHE!) but if that is what you wish i'd love to.

you likes my art? thank you!
i feel your pain regarding proportions. in my drawing class i learned that the human body is approximately 7 or 8 "heads" high. meaning, you could stack 7 or 8 of their heads on top of each other. of course, it varies, but it's a good base. one of the greatist tools for someone having trouble with proportions (i use this technique in all my drawings) is stick men. draw horizontal lines for the hips and shoulders, vertical lines for the legs and arms and circles for the head, hands and feet. this provides a basic skeleton that both shows you what pose the character will end up in, and also gives you a skeleton to draw around. this also means that you will be able to see if any proportions are completely wrong before you start drawing in earnest. I should have mentioned this technique before. i got it from a book about drawing comic book bad guys and gals. (the author, Christopher Hart, is my god.). anyway, try experimenting with that technique.
i also like that drawing of mondo! it's cuuuuute!

Yup i tried using the stickmen and circles thing (that's what i meant by construction) but the drawing always end up looking weird...i guess i'll have to practice.
As for the head system for proportion...i tried it once but i got better results by guessing the size of each part of the body so i gave up on that, at least for now.
