Who else would've liked to see...

Now that I have watched the entire series in it's entirety, I really would've like to see more of Splinter's younger days. Maybe they could've had him find the ooze and gain sentience, then as he's mutating (over the course of say, a year or two) he could travel to Japan to the Ancient One and train with him. To me this makes more sense that just see Master Yoshi and suddenly being a ninja master when he mutates. Then he could return to New York in hopes of avenging his master/father figure and find the turtles (about toddler age) surviving as feral children in the sewers and take them in as his sons. I think it might have given his ninja master status a bit more credit and been and interesting side story like A Tale of Master Yoshi.

One good turtle tot episode might have been that Splinter would have no idea what he was doing when he first started training them.

I also think they could've given him a little more development for his beef with the Tribunal. Something a little more that "They didn't help Yoshi" as his reason for hating them. Also a little more resolution when he suddenly starts being cool with them

I agree Zog, It deffinately came out of nowhere. i guess it was supposed to create suspense in the episode bc we didnt know why he hated them or what they were gonna do with the turtles. but it always felt somewhat anticlimactic to me
