Okay, I have a 2 part question for you fellow turtlemaniacs:
First, in a perfect world who would you like to see do a TMNT comic?
Mine, I would like to have it written by Evan Dorkin and Sara Dyer, and have it pencilled by Andi Watson. Andi watson has this amazing way of telling stories with out words, which would be great for fight scenes.
Second: Let's say peter Laird Hired YOU to work for Mirage, and Script a new TMNT series, what would you do with the characters? (Also in this scenario, They will keep doing the original TMNT, and you get to do your own shoot off, however you like)
I personally would start the series over from the begining and re-tell the story, trying to use some of the original Animation's characters and Situations. (don't scream yet!) I would have Krang be a Renegade Utrom supplying hi-tech weponary to the Shredder including a defensive system to his head quarters. (No technodrome though) I would put Bebop and Rocksteady in the series as Human thugs, but I would smarten them up so they can carry out tasks... imagine a Tag-Team version of Hun basically.
And scince I am a sucker for Romance, I would include a sub-story about April and Casey's relationship.. I could do a lot with that.
I look forward to hearing your ideas, I hope this thread goes well, it has alot of potential for creativity.
(to the mods, if you feel this belongs in Fan Works, my apologies and feel free to move it)

Nah, Those are the guys who started it in 1984, and proved they still got it in 1992, It would be a dream to have those guys do TMNT together again..

I remember Eastman and Laird were s'posed to do like a 70-page, full-color graphic novel a while back but *sigh* it never happened.
Oh well, we got a Volume 4 written by Laird out of it so I guess something cool happened.

Yeah, I know it probably wont happen. But I said it would be a dream come true. Atleast Laird is writing it.

I wouldn't mind having a go at a mini... if not writing the entire thing, at least writing the story and having someone good do all the dialogue. But if anything, GK's idea is very similar to something that I thought of a while back. With Bebop and Rocksteady being badasses who aren't idiots.

I would love them to be drawn and written by Watsuki Nobuhiro, the "father" of Kenshin. His storys are humorous, dramatic and the dialogues are great. Garth Ennis-Turtles would be fun, too!

I agree, barkworm. I'd love to see Leonardo slash stuff (or people) the way Kenshin does.
While I have no idea who aside from Mirage artists I would want to write/draw a TMNT story (I tend to skip over credits so I have no idea who does my favorite stuff. Nor do I really have favorites...)
I would LOVE the chance to do a TMNT book. I've got a Shadow solo adventure bouncing around in my head that I think would be cool. (Well, she's not totally solo, she just thinks she is. :D ) But at the moment I obviously don't have the skills to do something really professional.
But my own series? A mini series would be nice, with this idea I have for a vigilante group of ex-Foot (and others) who are forced into a tense alliance with the TMNT. Still gotta work on the whys and whats and hows and wheres on that story. (The characters are always the easiest...) Where I'd go from there, I have no idea, but you know it'd have quite a bit of mysticism thrown in. Maybe a crossover with my own comic...

Nothing wrong with that! IMO, that's when TMNT is at its best, anyways.

Ironically enough, the author I would've picked would be...Peter David. Who's doing the Dreamwave TMNT. Woot. Dreams do come true. :D
Now if only we could've gotten Humberto Ramos to draw it...

There's another mention of that "Frank" guy again. Someone wanna fill me in about who this guy is?
As for my dream creative team... I'm biased as hell, but to me, Dan Jurgens doing the writing and art on ANY book is a dream come true. Double that if Brett Breeding inks it.
I have too many ideas to list, as far as what I personally would do with the series. I know I would revamp everything from the origin on up, but aside from that there's just too many possibilities. I'd have to actually be in that situation to offer anything concrete.

I've always fanasized doing my own ANIMATED version of the TMNT (Think of the new toon with Leo and raph using their weapons on people and amplified violence)

He's nicknamed "frank miller" because he used to process hot dogs. No one knows his real name. :)
Actually, I wouldn't mind seeing Frank FOSCO doing art again.

Sigh. I hate having to explain my jokes. :P
I know full well who "he-who-shall-not-be-named" is. I've just been refusing to acknowledge his existence ever since that "Dark Knight Strikes Again" garbage last year.
So, again... Frank who?
