Would Laird made Oroku Saki into an utrom in the 4Kids Cartoon.?

If Oroku Saki was'nt killed and was alive for majority in the Mirage universe. Do you think Laird would've made Oroki Saki into utrom in the 4Kids cartoon, Even if the Shredder was alive in Mirage comics.

I have no idea what you're saying, but Laird approved of the idea to make Shredder an Utrom in the 4kids series.

If you're talking about the comics, you do realize the Mirage comics pre-dated the 4kids series by about 15 years?

When the 4kids series was airing, Volume 4 of the comics was going on. It was too late to do anything with Shredder.

It was Laird's idea to make him an Utrom. He came up with it. So yes, he would've still made him an Utrom if the Comic-Shredder was alive.

I think what Keldor 1578 is asking--very badly--is if y'all think that Peter Laird would have ever followed the cartoon's lead and reveal that the Mirage Shredder, like his 4Kids counterpart, was also an Utrom, had that version of the character not been long out of play by then. Am I on the right track, Keldor?

Personally, I think there's almost no chance that Mirage Shredder would have been made into an Utrom. Whatever his flaws as a writer, Laird still has sound knowledge of what makes a concept and a plot work, and would almost certainly have been aware that the circumstances which made "Shredder is an Utrom" work in the 4Kids cartoon did not exist in the Mirage continuity, and that the concept would make the character and the overall universe, a weaker one.

Why would Laird make Mirage Shredder into an Utrom? There's no reason for it! The only reason they did it on the 4Kids series was the same reason they made the Foot Soldiers into robots in the original cartoon.

The Shredder was the main villain in the Mirage universe, instead of being a miner villain. I feel if Laird and Eastman didn't killed the Shredder in the first issue and than in RTN for real and play larger role in the Mirage, That Laird wouldn't made Oroku Saki into utrom in the 4Kids cartoon.

Thank you for the clarification. If that's the case...I have no clue. Part of the reason for making the 4Kids Shredder an Utrom was to be able to do the decapitation scene. If there is no decapitation scene to adapt, however, then who knows? It really depends on what Eastman and Laird would have done with the character, and that's a hole with no bottom.

Laird seemed pretty set on making the 03 series as much like his comics as he could. I think turning Shredder into an Utrom was just a way to accomplish this within censorship.

He was made into a Utrom so the turtles could dish out the same kind of damage to him as they do in the comics. Also I'm sure 4Kids loved the idea of combining two of the previous series most popular villains, Shredder and Krang.
