Eh I don't really think that commercial should be counted as canon. The Turtles were total media whores back then, they woulda just as easily done a commercial for Budweiser if the money was right.

It wouldn't surprise me if Mikey did in fact engage in a little "extra curricular activity" in his spare time. And as for Splinter... well maybe he was burning all those scented candles and incense for a reason? Ever think'a that?
