View Full Version : So is it agreed that Khan was one of the Elite guards?

Khan appeared out of nowhere and was very loyal to Shredder. Nobody knew where he came from but they would often play the same "music cue" of the Elite Guard theme when he appeared.
Even though they never confirmed it, do you think Khan was one of the 4 Elite Guard who served Shredder?

Were there only four?
But yeah, I agree.

I think we've all agreed in a previous thread that Khan was indeed one of the Elite Guards.

I'm probably the most skeptical...but I can understand the reasoning. I wish we had gotten more back story for Khan. Heck, how did an Elite become good enough to thrash all of the Turtles?

Don't remember Khan displaying the skills of the Elite Guards. I don't recall him teleporting and I believe anyone with that power would use it. I think the only reason people make that connection is the voice actor for Khan was the same guy who did the lead Elite Guard in the CAW arc.

And the music plus loyalty.
It was pretty obvious Khan thought this was the Shredder from the first few seasons and not Viral as Shredder.

Sure but most of Shredder's accomplices have displayed that level of loyalty even when he seems inclined to crap all over them. I assumed when Karai quit being Shredder, and with Hun gone, he was next in line to take control of the foot but then Cyber Shredder came about.
I think anyone who doesn't agree than Khan was an Elite Guard is suffering some major denial. But, Shredder as an Utrom? That's quite obviously a conspiracy theory.

It certainly would've had the potential to have been a better episode than many of the thirteen episodes featured during that season.

I think it's a very interesting theory, but I don't think it's definitely true. Could be though.

It was pretty obvious Khan thought this was the Shredder from the first few seasons and not Viral as Shredder. But this wasn't Viral the Cyber Shredder program took over her body. Plus I thought the Elite Guards were killed? The last time we saw them was when the Tengu Shredder flew thier own weapons in thier faces. I highly doubt he would have left them alive.
But this wasn't Viral the Cyber Shredder program took over her body.
Is it still considered a body if it's just digital bits?
Teehee. "Bits"... :P

He DOES have a dragon down his face. To cover his scar, maybe?

Hun was a Purple Dragon who eventually became Shredder's right hand. We know more about him then we do Khan.
No I meant the back story of how Hun meet Shredder.
I don't like to think of Khan as an elite guard, the music cue just seemed like re-used to me more than any real type of connection. I think the real reason I don't see Khan as an elite guard is I always saw the Elites as these respected loyal members and they also had these unexplained mythical powers, I found them very interesting and wanted to learn more about them. Khan on the other hand he seemed like a random follower trying to take advantage/servant of the shredder. I don't know I didn't get the same level of "respect" for lack of a better word from Khan than the Elites, he seemed more like a random henchman.

That's true, but we at least knew a little about Hun...we know jack about Khan.
Hun was there since Season 1 and had over 100 episodes while Khan only had one 13 episode season. We really did deserve more of a background on Hun.

True. I kinda wish we would have gotten 2 seasons of both >> and back to the Sewers, because there were season 2 ideas that would have been awesome if they'd have been done.

If only Nightmares Recycled had aired...
Would it really have made a difference? I only read a short synopsis but that episode looked terrible, Garbage man a character I wish hadn't existed now has a convoluted conjointed twin origin story with one of the main villains? ugh. Maybe the longer synopsis isn't so bad but it sounds terrible and I'm kind of glad it didn't happen.

Hun got a backstory. We saw a flashback of him burning down Casey's home.
He was a street punk who moved up the ranks of the Purple dragons and eventually into the Foot. What more do you need?
Why is he so loyal to the Shredder? his level of loyalty was not normal.

He was probably loyal to Shredder because Shredder took him in as sorts maybe as an adopted father. We don't know much about whether Hun had parents or not. Maybe he ran away and joined the Dragons. Then Saki could have seen the gang and thought they would make good recruits to his army in a way, so he took in Hun. But after Hun found out Shredder was an Utrom, he wasn't as loyal as he used to be. There could be any number of reasons though. That's just my speculation.

I personally believe that Khan was a foot Elite Guard. Now correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the music that plays when Khan appears the same one that plays when the Elite appeared? And I think I can also recall in City at War Part One, the Elite that was counting the money the mob gave them, had the same voice as Khan.
Now I know that the music could of just been recycled and of course the voice but eh, I'd like to think so.

Well, it looked like mystical teleportation to me. And the sound effect they had when they did teleport certainly didn't sound like they were using smoke bombs of any sort.

That was something that back during the first season I would've liked an explanation for. Was it magic? I personally don't think that it was supposed to have been, but I certainly wouldn't have ruled it out.

I do think he was part of the Elite Guard. The theme plays, but that could also because the creators thought it'd fit well. He was also able to 'teleport' (as you can see in the second episode of BttS) One thing that would make me doubt my decision is, and Jester already said it, how was he able to defeat all four Turtles?

The same way Hun seemed unstoppable in some episodes yet they defeated him easier in others?

Yes, BUT...the Turtles learned to fight Hun, learned his strengths and weaknesses. Hun only seemed unstoppable in his early appearances. Khan they had fought as a Foot Elite, and stomped. Now unless in the intervening year between >> and BttS he studied "game footage" of the fights with the Turtles to learn from it in the way the Turtles learned to defeat Hun, or he learned a whole new style of martial arts, Khan isn't a Foot Elite.
