if the rat king does appear in the new show i hoping he more like his old toon self ie he actually becomes a major villians cause it the 4kids show he only appear in one major episode plus a cameo at april wedding.

so what do you want of the rat king as a major villians as he was in old toon or a one shot monster that he was in the 2003 show?

One of the things I liked about the Fred Wolf Rat King is he wasn't necessarily a villain. There were many a time that he actually helped the Turtles. I liked him best in the FW series. He had the most personality of any incarnations.

I like how the Rat King was portrayed in the Mirage comics and 2k3, but I liked how he was around more in the OT. I'd like some sort of nice mix where he's creepy and formidable as an opponent, but not just some one-off character.

Rat King is one of my favorite villains of all time, so I'd rather him be a returning character.

Yes, and? I agree with both you. I share your views on Rat King being on the fence, and that he is the best version of the character.
I also share Goonga's hopes for the next one.

Powder is jst Bi-Polar...:P Jk....

Truthfully I loved him in the OT growing up, thought he was pretty awesome.
But I gotta say I love 2k3 inpretations of the Rat King, but it pisses me off how he was a one shot character...:x

I wouldn't mind him being like he was in the OT. He could fit in with the more humorous side of the show while still being a kind of cool villain/antihero/random annoyance. I'd just prefer if he showed his badass side a bit more often if he were a recurring character.

:blanksta: Seriously? He wasn't "a cruelly malicious person who is involved in or devoted to wickedness or crime" or "a character in a play, novel, or the like, who constitutes an important evil agency in the plot"? I guess I must have been watching the show wrong. And, being helpful once out of his 10-15 appearances doesn't make him a misunderstood good guy.

Ok...so he is a villain, but he wasn't as one note as many of the other FW villains.

Rat King and Baxter appeared the most of all the non-Shredder and co. villains.

Why do you keep including Baxter? That's BS. The majority of his appearances were as Shredder's servant, and there were maybe six others (most involving Shredder).

Rat King and Baxter appeared the most of all the non-Shredder and co. villains.Wrong Lord Dregg appeared more than either of them.

I'd say a multi episode villain myself. We need a mix of mutant allies and enemies for the Turtles(yes Rat King doesn't fall into the catagory). He was always capturing Aprilevery chance he got.

The Rat King was one of my favorite villains in the OT series, and i think should definitely be a recurring character in the new series. Although he sometimes helped the Turtles, he was by no means a friend to them or 'good guy'.

I think the new toon should feature the ghost Rat King right off the bat. They probably don't want to show killing, so he should just be some omnipotent presence that helps (or deters) Splinter once in awhile. I'd rather that then the OT Rat King, but that's just me.

The Rat King has to be a multi episode villian! He was multi episode in the original series and was one of the turtles best villians.

He needs to be reoccuring. At least in the '87 series I saw him as the #2 villain in the series. He was never a neutral character that people claim he was. He only helped the turtles once and that is because Rat King liked April or at least though she has pretty red hair that he confuses with fur when he found where Baxter took her for the TMNT that once time. I will assume that the show won't be as indepth as the '87 series or the 2003 series with its plots or characters but he needs an onscreen origin or at least described in his first appearance. At least once a season is a must. Seeing him work with The Shredder or other villains would be great.

I think he would be a great reoccurring villain. Everyone places Shredder as the Turtles ultimate reoccurring arch-nemesis, which he has become, but that wasn't originally the case in the comics. While I think Shredder is important and has become almost as important as the Turtles in the mythos, I would like to see them try a new approach and have it more balanced, yes the Shredder is there but I would like to see other villains like Rat King and Leatherhead move into a bigger role instead of just appearing in Random 1 or 2 episode spurts in between Shredder episodes. I'd like to see both of them and other villains assume bigger roles and become more of a threat to the Turtles instead of just one-noters.
